On paper it's no contest. A 226Khz PLL from the 80s vs something that runs Mhz range (possibly hundreds of Mhz) with way better ppm (drift over time) and jitter specs plus significantly more powerful (sample rate, accuracy etc..) control firmware and sensors. Degritter ultrasonic record cleaner
Thats what the surfactant in the US tank mix is there for. Triton X100 or Tergitol work very very well and are used by archival institutions the world over. You can also add quats (via industrial cleaners) specifically for anti static but I have not found this neccesary as the record stays...- Chris F

Degritter ultrasonic record cleaner
When I first did my DIY setup (Elma P60H) I did a few before/after needledrops and compared fixed samples using declick algorithm and subjective listening. Post ultrasonic is always 10-30% less repairs (on a typical VG+ to EX used record) than the needledrop with the record already cleaned on...- Chris F

I’m happy to see that finally there is going to be some competition/price pressure in this space. It’s long been possible to DIY a better cleaner for a fraction of the price but the convenience factor (all in one cleaning drying etc...) of KL/Audiodesk has remained unmatched.- Chris F

Agree for sure. Maybe some exceptions like old WE stuff and Telefunken 803S where prices are through the roof (and counterfeits are everywhere) but for sure you should be grabbing the best NOS tube you can get. Hey Bonzo the power section for sure has undergone significant changes to completely separate left and right all the way back to dual power cords. The Trulife is very sensitive to rectifier changes; it can make or break the sound. I don't know what the stock one is but guessing it's probably...- Chris F

Hi Tang, Not sure what will come after 250 but last time I was there I did see some initial sketches for a follow up table. Yes for sure too heavy ones will overdamp it and kill the sound. For the ones we tried: Default Kronos metal top (aluminum?): good transient snap but a bit forward in comparison to the rest No top just the puck: more natural but a bit diffuse and lacking in bite/transient snap Small wood...- Chris F
