I had a similar experience as to the roller-coaster ride of fair to good to fair and then eventually great.
I had a D2 and a D1 on my SGM and T+A DAC 8 DSD.
I was loving what it did for my system.
Then I added two A1 Spade on my two mono amps. I am not sure I like it better with them on the...
I represent Taiko Audio here in the USA. I have several demo units of various types (A and D / 1 and 2) with various connections available for home demo. Contact me by the below email.
Yes, it is possible to rip a Blu-ray Disc to a PC hard drive. You can choose flac or wave. There are a few programs that assist you with getting by the copy guard. I have several concerts that I did a few years ago (24/96) that sounded wonderful. And no I am not a young hi-tek audio nerd, just...
Just a heads up that I will be at the LA Audio Show as an Ambassador for Sound Galleries and Taiko Audio. I will be arriving on Thursday afternoon and will be leaving on Monday afternoon.
I will be spending time in the Alma Audio room but I will also be floating around the show. I will be...
LA Audio Show June 2-4
Just a heads up that I will be at the LA Audio Show as an Ambassador for Sound Galleries and Taiko Audio.
At times I will be in the Alma Audio room but I will also be floating around the show. I will be wearing a Polo shirt with the Sound Galleries and Taiko Audio...
Marty, Paul is right. Microsoft recent update/version has caused MAJOR problems for many others. And it left them scrambling to find out why and where so they can send out an update for their own programs.
The latest HQP update should take care of it but first uninstall the old version then...
Steve, as I and others have told you the 6700K or 7700 version will do DSD512 so of course it will do DSD256 or quad DSD. The build that I did, see my PC build list, was designed so that the power supply fan would never need to come on and the CPU fan is less then whisper quite. There are...
Yes, it makes sense if it is not practical to have the cable from the main PC in another room run to the NAA in the audio room.
I highly recommend that anyone doing DSD512 do not do wireless at this time but use a wired connection and I would add DSD256 to that in most cases, when using a NAA.
IIRC, you want to not use hyperthreading for the best sound if possible. BUT one should have about 20-30% utilization with hyperthreading off, according to the designer IIRC.
Obviously you can use this chip. But is it the best choice and is it the best for someone who is looking to get...
Marty, you are not dreaming. You were intoxicated with what can be done.
Now, all you need is look at my post that has the computer build out list that is a few posts back on this thread.
This build will let you up-sample to DSD512 with no problem. You do not need to build it just use that...

Please note that I mentioned that you only need that much higher processor speed if one was planing on using it to up-sample to DSD512 (very intense processing when up-sampling DSD128/DSD256 to DSD512 vs hirez PCM>DSD512). Otherwise one could use the lower power chips that have a lower processor...
I have concerns if you plan to up-sample to DSD512, then I would say no. It is my understanding that you need a minimum base processor speed of about 3.8 - 3.9 to handle DSD512. Most low powered chips (laptops etc) do not get that high. The higher speed processors get much hotter. But if you...
