The rest of chain was techdas cartridge, Phantom Elite with techdas titanium arm wand and i think a bespoke counterweight, HSE Swiss phono, and Constellation pre and power driving Wilson Audio Alexx. Apparently they had only two hour to set up and I only made the last 30min of the...
Fascinating. Tango have you tried the tungsten weight from techdas? It is also significantly better than the regular version so I am quite interested to hear your opinion....
Thanks!
Exciting! Especially love the possibility of using a 12” arm.... However, as a proud owner of the SAT arm, compared to the current arm, aside from the headshell, I am not sure if I spotted any differences from the drawings.... Maybe differences of manufacturing?
Um, maybe the other fellow TechDas owners are more lucky than I am, but I thought those of us lucky enough to own such fantastic equipment are more often than not... not exactly spring chicken either haha.
Personally as long as the equipment lasts longer than my hearing, I am good!
Amazingly, there is already a new version of Premium.... now with an extra air condenser box, which looks just like the condenser box from the orginal AF1, making the Premium a 4-piece affair. According to a Jadis sales, the air bladder in the feet are also larger and there were some changes to...
You are absolutely right! I totally forgot Japan has both 50 and 60Hz AC! Darn, my false hope of removing the vibration has been dashed :-)
Now I wonder what would happen if we put the controller on active isolation :-P Nevermind haha
Thanks David. That bit I get. I was more thinking will the suspension that floats the pumps be tuned to minimize vibration at 60Hz rather than 50Hz..... assuming the pump is running from AC rather than DC....
This comment on 60hz vs 50hz got me thinking about something else. Does your AF1 controller/power supply vibrate a bit? The control units of my AF1 and now AF1P both vibrates when i touch them. I am living in Hong Kong so it is 50Hz AC. For owners with 60Hz AC, does your controller vibrate? I...
Thanks Jack. The AF Zero is definitely out of my league so it is a relief! Too bad won't be able to get my paws on the motor and platter but i guess i have my limits hehe
Any further news on AF Zero? A friend told me it's going to take a while longer yet as the original 16 inch platter precludes arms like SAT to be mounted, potentially reducing overall sound quality. Some re-design may be required?
Or maybe Marc Gomez can made a new arm to go with the gigantic...
Thanks for the photos!
From the first photo it does look like there was an extra box in the rack. Am guessing it is a combined power supply/pump/condenser for the motor?
Wish I was there!
I am using Koetsu Blue Lace with diamond cantilever at the moment.
If you have the ti board for the elite already, I supect you may find the SAT with aluminum board a little dark in comparison.
As to the question why not get a stainless upper platter instead of ti plus the tungsten...
