Recommendation for a power strip and outlet

I went with a Chord M6 and it's a worthwhile step up from the Gutwire 8-Bar power distributor that I had been previously using. The midrange is now more transparent and 'right sounding' and bass weight is improved and appropriate.

Powerstrip - Waste money or real improvement?

My new Chord M6 has arrived and I'm very happy with the lift in sound quality. "Clean and natural" is how I'd describe what I hear. It's a worthwhile step up from the Gutwire 8-Bar power distributor that I have been using until now.

Recommendation for a power strip and outlet

In contrast to their power cables, my Gutwire Schuko 8 Bar distributor has turned out to be a disappointment, holding back my system in terms of bass performance and general dynamics. I've now shortlisted options from the Puritan Audio and Chord PowerHAUS ranges. I'll report back in due course.

Thomas Mayer preamps - the 6AH4 vs the more expensive 10Y

Hello. A question on Thomas Mayer preamps. Has anyone heard both the entry level 6AH4 preamp and the more expensive 10Y preamp? What were the key differences that you noticed the most? I'm interested to hear from anyone who has actually heard both. Thanks.

Racked With Doubt: Symposium vs. Artesania?

Just to balance things out a little, I owned a Symposium Foundation Ultra rack, but not for long. I've heard systems on an Artesania rack at a local dealer, and whilst it's near impossible to know what's driving the sonic result, Artesania would be my choice of these 2 racks.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I've seen a number of comments on this forum giving high praise to Symposium racks. I briefly owned a Symposium Ultra Rack and I did not like it much. I found it tipped the sound up, making it fatiguing and unnatural to my ears. Besides that, I was surprised how much the sound could change for...

Audio Research REF 75SE and REF 80S

No, it was not meant that way at all. I have obviously caused offence and for that I apologise. I use this forum as a way of gaining knowledge and hunting for the most cost effective moves forward. My intention was to contribute, not to piss on anything. Apologies and good luck.

Audio Research REF 75SE and REF 80S

A very interesting post. When I got my Ref 75SE, I was instructed to always wait 5 minutes before switching on again and that has become a habit on the odd occasion where I need to do that. FWIW, I messaged a well known ARC dealer on another forum, and he is of the view that in terms of sound...

Thoughts on Paypal as a "seller"

My experience exactly. I could never get hold of a human being at Paypal to have a rational conversation. My buyer confirmed in writing he was happy but it made no difference. It was about 7 weeks before I got my money. I haven't been near Paypal since.

    What's Spinning Tonight?

Never thought I'd see a Split Enz album mentioned on this site. I saw them live 3 times in their heyday.

    Brinkmann owners

It's very interesting to read this discussion about the comparison on the sound of the Brinkmann Balance vs the Avid Acutus. Both are TT options that appeal to me as long-term possibilities. I have not heard the Avid Acutus yet but I've recently read an interesting review on the lower priced...

Upgrade from Zu Omen Def to Devore Gibbon X

"A few reviewers cautioned that placement of the GX is tricky and is room nit picky. This has not been my experience." My experience too. "I bought the 75SE on a whim, it was good, but nothing stellar." I'm not sure what speakers you used with the REF 75SE, but it's a great match with the...

Thoughts on Paypal as a "seller"

Neither had I until it happened, out of the blue. A 6 week nightmare.
