Hmmm. It looks different than Aurender W20 but is supposed to be better. Almost like some parts are missing in k30 and w20 is a lot tidier. Maybe somebody smarter than me can explain the differences.
In my humble opinion this entire discussion is an irrelevant hypothetical. The DAC's design and execution of each of the 3 inputs in combination with the digital source construct is the only meaningful determinant. Discussion outside this context is silly. Mark has confirmed this to me...
I ordered the MSB Pro-USB Module and all Nordost digital wires (spidf, usb and ethernet) to use with my Reference Dac (existing Renderer2 and Spidf inputs) to test my K50 upon arrival. Very interested to get started.
I had the same dilemma and then just decided the only way I will truly know the optimum connection from the Antipodes in my system was to change my order from K40 to K50 so I can test all 3 outputs with my system and my cables. They say options have value; only one way to find out in this case.
I am just saying to make sure they do not just send fuses with greater resistance than spec without giving you a good engineering reason why the unit is behaving this way and why its not a problem.
This news about fuses blowing is very disturbing. Please keep us posted as to why this keeps occurring. I recently change my order to a K50 from a K40 and ordered the USB Pro for my MSB Reference. I decided to compare all 3 outputs on the K50 to the MSB to select which I prefer. Hearing this...
I am curious if your view changes when no upsampling or filtering is preformed by either roon or hqp in playback? In other words, would your findings be as true if you have a DAC like MSB that does not prefer upsampling.
Any new updates on the SQ of 1.8 versus prior versions? In reviewing the release I see nothing of substance re sound quality which is a huge disappointment.
I have been waiting for comments on 1.8. I must believe Roon is going to get their player figured out in time. Frankly it is ridiculous they have the library side so perfected and can't get the sound to a SOTA level!!
I was simply responding to a post by seatrope which corroborated my prior post about the design of a dac's ethernet renderer being fundamental to the performance of a server. Seatrope is the one alleging the Pac renderer contains a wifi noise. If he is right, are you claiming this constuct...
