Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi Emile, Ok, similar results myself, and with some boards if you want to change CPU specific options in the BIOS it locks BCLK to 100Mhz as the spread can upset the under/over-clocking. Apogees are pretty scarce over here, I am working on a pair of "Reality" Duetta Signatures that will be up...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Emile, just wondered do you disable the Spread Spectrum Clocking on the motherboard?

Help!! Chance to purchase krell KRS 1:50 amps and apogee signature duetta speakers

The clamps being inside the cover cut-out is not uncommon, the woodwork accuracy is +/-3mm or more with regards to the placement. These were originally Duetta 1's as they have the cover foot and the steel angles top and bottom like Scintillas, actually a benefit as it makes them structurally...

    Apogee vs Electrostatic

Just to clarify I don't change the crossover points on any of the speakers, but I do adjust the top end circuit on the Duetta usually on site to what the owner wants to hear. They often gets used to the falling top end (high frequency drop-off caused by old stretched ribbons) the owner has ended...

    Another Apogee thread? You bet!

Yeah I got that, just read what I wrote, can't really say it another way

    Another Apogee thread? You bet!

I would personally say the height does make a difference, I think Divas would still have a more room filling floor to ceiling sound, the sheer extra area of the bass panel counts here. Not quite, the Divas normal complement is a 25mm wide midrange and a 4mm wide foil tweeter. The Scintilla...

    Another Apogee thread? You bet!

Same foil as Scintilla mid just 25mm wide vs 50mm wide. There is 1.4 ohms of padding in the crossover so the amp "sees" around 2 ohms, still a fairly punishing load. Warmer, yes more resolved and deeper bass - tick transparent effortless mid - tick clear pure treble - tick open 3D acoustic on...

Thanks Marc, I'm sure you would be welcome to a return visit, Kim will want to hear them again also.

    Another Apogee thread? You bet!

These Divas have a 0.2 ohm foil only midrange vs the standard 3 ohm 3-element kapton backed standard driver. For some reason I can't explain Rich only made a minor adjustment to the crossover.

    Another Apogee thread? You bet!

Just wanted to clear up the Diva demo Marc has talked about. The crossover Rich sent with the Divas with a foil only midrange were way out of whack. I went back and with a combination of measurement and by ear modified Rich's crossovers to get the sound EQ-ed correctly. The owner agreed for me...

    Apogee Full range

Hi David, I guess I am, I was too young and broke to afford Apogees when I was reading the reviews, first pair was a rather average condition set of Stages in around 1999 I think. The ribbons are electrically the same, same layout and thickness of foil. Graz has made improvements in other...

    Apogee Full range

I'm Jon the UK Apogee restorer, thought I should pop in here as my name seems to be getting mentioned a lot! I have read through this thread over the past few hours, so some of my comments relate to stuff brought up some time ago and in no particular order. First of all in relation to the...
