After successful launch of the first release of foobar2000 – setup assistant project that helps resolving pain point in setting up PC as a streamer for so long, version 2.0 with more updates and optimizations is released with the following changes:
-Added ASIO+DSD Output 0.3.8 component to...
I heard new SE update news from this thread and asked dealer to inform me when update is available. I hope new SE update will resolve some strange cases found in this thread. It's not major issue and I'm still happy with Esoteric K1X performance in my system. :)

After releasing Fidelizer 8.10 for a while, I noticed something about computer audio setup. It’s not easy to setup computer as a streamer for most people. Even Roon or Audirvana need some configuration to use Tidal / Qobuz and can be quite complicated for end user.
foobar2000 is free easy to be...
For those who don't have time to watch the entire video.
Methodology:
1. Use PingPlotter Pro to monitor network latency between stock router and AirStream2
2. Both wireless router units have the same model with same firmware and configuration
3. Play music from Tidal application then trace...
This video will explore the effect of hardware modification on wireless router. These effects and associated expressions are described in relation to network latency and jitter in network. Enjoy.
I suggest to move on from Roon and try other solutions. There's a few alternatives that sound better although user experience from Roon is better than most of them. I'm using JPLAY app in my iPad streaming to my server now.
To be honest I never find Roon ever sound better than other options, But I can see how some people will prefer Roon over others in some cases like using default software configuration and doesn't have highend CD transport as reference.
Roon 1.7-1.8 doesn't sound bad but that was a thing in the...

After massive sound quality drop, it got a bit better in this build.... but still bad and no where close to early CarPlay build, let alone Roon 1.8 version.
Actually, even Roon 1.8 was just acceptable substitute compared to Audirvana / JPLAY / JRiver /...
I play music with air conditioner with a lot of free space on separated rack. I don't think it's heat issue. I suspect on capacitor discharge since turning off about an hour usually fix sound getting duller. But since screw tightness adjust improve body and fluidity, it's more bearable for me...
I bought K1X as a new product and I don't think mentioning about dealer will help anything since this is rare design case that most people won't even realize. Out of 10 people leaving K1X on 24/7, maybe 2 notice it sounds weird after 10hrs. And it was dealer informed me about this matter first...
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has this issue. I normally leave all equipment but amplifier powered on but now I turn everything off when I don't use. Since I don't listen to music 10hrs+ straight so situation is not that grave compared to sound quality it delivers with new discrete...
You can but it's probably not as good as last excellent sounding 1.8 version like OP said before. These issues in 2.0 made me reconsider since when did I become a man who sacrifice sound quality for prettier UI? And I went back to my personal roots again.
I agree that Roon has better user interface and many audiophiles are willing to compromise having sound quality dropped down for better user experience. If you use HQPlayer with its own remote app (that actually work as remote without affecting audio signal mixing non-audio information from...
After further investigation, I think I found the reason why sound on Roon keeps changing in 2.0 release. The main reason is Roon ARC that keeps listening to port forwarding uPNP protocol to Roon mobile feature. Well, that adds extra layer of interference compared to Roon 1.8 but still bearable...
After March 2023 and new Roon update caused weird issues again. Not only sound quality issue got changed but reliability got affected too. After a lot of troubleshooting, I decided to rollback to version 2.0 build 1182 which is known to be last stable 2.0 version before things got worse in 1202...
I think the difference would be about the approach of audio reproduction. Some highend systems sound really good with strong sound characteristics making subtle changes harder to notice but still sound great.
Some systems sound really good with very low coloration and so they're more sensitive...
Different streamers in different systems will have different level of resolving. Back in CD times there's also people who say there's no audible difference between CD transports too so this is nothing new.
As for Roon sound changes, it started to reach acceptable level at version 1.8. 2.0 has...
We are pleased to announce that the Grandioso K1X Ver3.10c I/F firmware update is now available.

Improved some performances and minor bug fix

I think it's safe to try 2.4GHz and compare to 5GHz, see if you prefer 2.4GHz sound over 5GHz one.
By the way, you guys mayconsider audiophile grade router with highly optimized firmware configuration and intensive hardware modification from here.
-Upgrade Capacitors with high capacitance and...
Thank you. I was troubled with 'strained' sound after burn in and adjusting screw tightness to be not so tight helped me resolving 70-80% of sound issues I have with K1X. Had I realized this sooner, I would have come to love P-03/D-03 combo more back then.
Hi. After adjusting screw tightness on safe to adjust area, it sounds rounder and more organic now. I guess the infamous house sound is related to screw tightness with housing design. I guess I can enjoy without hardware modification for a while.
I did try but it didn't work. Maybe it's something related to Grandioso lineup or external power supply support thing. For now turning off for a while and turn on again seem to fix it.
Esoteric staff has done professional job in making sure all corners around PCB have evenly matched tightness. Some DACs I did this before have some corner being too tight while some being easily loose.
However, the screw is a bit too tight and make harmonics feel stressed and not flowing...
Screws are a bit too tight in some areas. I unscrew a little and re-apply with smaller screwdriver so it'll have smaller torque causing less stress. The screws on regulators play pretty huge role also. Well, I'm not making screws a bit too loose here. Just not too tight.
A bit tiring but worth it. Readjusting screw's tightness on all possible areas without removing screw except outer chassis. System sounds more relaxing after stress on PCB and enclosure are reduced. Now Esoteric K1X is singing with fuller dynamics and richer harmonics. Happy listening. :)
P.S...
I'd like to hear opinions from people owning K1X/P1X/D1X sharing their real experience only. If you don't own such model, I believe other models should work fine and not really related to cases I'm having with now. My K1X hits 100hrs mark today.
