ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello everyone, Thanks to Fred Crane of Prana Distribution, the previous distributor of Trafomatic Audio, Hear This was appointed US distributor for Trafomatic in early 2024...
Hi all, I am pleased to report Ars Machinae will be displaying at Munich 2024 for the first time with Zeiler Audio in a booth location on the ground floor # H2F-04.
Ars will be displaying the M1 turntable and Ligne arm with the M1 isolation base pictured below. Zeiler is a fascinating young...
My friend Sam Wisnewski of Destination Audio will be at Hi-Fi Deluxe with his wonderful Nika speaker and GM-70, fronted by Lampizator. For those who don't know, Sam's horn-based loudspeaker, the Nika, is his most affordable offering and offers full-range sound. This is Sam's first appearance in...
I believe MSB will be the second DAC producer to offer the new Taiko interface, but I don't have first-hand knowledge of timing. Lampizator will be first. MSB/Taiko and Lampizator keep pushing the boundaries of digital replay. Impressive!

ANGUS and WESTMINSTER TAKE GERMANY!
Below is our good friend and colleague Krey Baumgarti, Chief Curator of Westminster's German distributor. Bridged Rei's are featured along with a Soulnote/Wilson Benesch system. In bridged mode, the Rei's produce 400/800 Class A watts per/channel at 8 ohms...
In all the excitement, I neglected to post our suite at Axpona. We featured dual-mono Quest pre-amplifiers
(a first) and four Rei monoblocks in vertical bi-amp mode. The WestminsterLab electronics powered the wonderful Von Schweikert VR-55 Special Edition loudspeakers. Our friends from...
Knowing Accuphase, it's likely a good one. I love the old cello piece as well. The designer of the Cello Palette and other brand pre-amplifiers is the President of Viola Audio Labs. I'll have to ask him why he never considered modernizing this iconic product as a Viola product.
Mkx. I'm jumping in. Yes, Russ is upgrading to the Monologue stand-alone power supply. He's adding his current MC/MM module from his Quest to complete the upgrade. As good as the Quest internal card is, the dedicated power supply brings things to another level.
I dug deeper into the Emotions at Axpona and found this capsule from Michael Lavorgnia. These are a must-audition if you have a smaller or moderate room, don't want behemoth loudspeakers, and are looking for a speaker with the best available coherence, resolution, and imaging. Gideon told me...
I have the Zellaton "Plural" Evo's in my home system and have many choices of what I can use. I find them exceptional compared to many of the more broadly distributed brands in the US. Add to that the highest German craftsmanship and 100% prop[dietary driver technology. I am especially intrigued...
No worries whatsoever. There is an improved volume control circuit. I agree with Angus that it has an effect one cannot unhear:-) All units in the field have been updated at the factory, and new products ship with the revision included.
Thanks, Russ! I am pleased to report Cyrus purchased the Quest with V2 updates and is enjoying it in his system. As always, thanks for sharing your experience and the supportive comments.
Rad,
In three days of installing and tuning the Auditoriums with Angus and Ron, we had many listening sessions, but nothing serious until late on day 2. Once things settled in, piano reproduction was superb, with exceptional attack and decay and a sense of proper scale and tone that was spot...
Keith, currently, we have one unit in Dave McNair of Tracking Angle and another one arriving soon. For those who are interested, we are arranging in-home demos so feel free to PM me. The Monologues' first public showing will be at the Home Entertainment Show in Irvine, CA, in June appearing in...
Keith, make a short playlist of your coolest music, and I guarantee I'll use it at The Home Entertainment Show in June. Loved your recap and industry comments!
Basile, pictured below is the modern-day Simon Yorke, made in Germany and with advanced technology. Ralf Woeful and Alexandra Krug, a PhD ME, and an award-winning industrial designer, make up the team at Ars Machine.
Basile, it's been since the early 2000s since I used the Shelter 901 at CES in a Tri-Planer arm. It was lovely then, so based on your recommendation, I will revisit them. Always great value for money! Wonderful seeing you at Axpona my friend!
Keith, good seeing you as always. Given my room duties, I could only hear the Wolf Von Langa's and the Avantgard rooms. Both were sensational in different ways. The big Credo line arrays, as are their smaller and unassuming floor-standers, are truly special. The brand deserves more recognition...
