I have 2 large 4x8’ bass traps built into the ceiling. Acoustic engineered. My recollection is they have 15” of acoustic batt insulation behind the wooden slats
Thanks Metaphacts. I remember my first tele call with you years ago regarding a watch crossover/thor/ krell 707 conflict and your saying wilson wants every wilson speaker owner to be treated as a part of the family... regardless of when or where it was purchased. To me thats what its all about...
Unfortunately in my market place it's my opinion that the bulk of the really high end stuff sells itself because it's the only real high end game in town. Anyone who is in the design and architecture trade or a sophisticated user knows who has the product so that is where the high dollar players...
I see that my experience is quite different from most of the posters on this subject. I have lived in my community for nearly 50 years. I established really good relationships with the two largest dealers in town shortly after moving here having purchased multiple components from both over a...
I find it curious how a seemingly friendly group of people with an obtuse hobby come together to learn more about their hobby and possibly enhance their enjoyment of it, band together like wolves to attack an idea that they cant understand or dont embrace Possibly the world is flat To those...
Thank you. Possibly i misunderstand this paragraph below then. I am seeking to determine the corrective offsets from the standard settings in the manual based on my amp, which group delay may be significantly different from the amp used to calculate the charts in the manual. Am i completely not...
Who should one contact. I wrote to Jerron. He told me no specific micro adjustments for alexandrias. I recognize that i have only a fraction of the experience of a top installer but as a technical guy myself i suspect that the adjustment of all alexandrias would be similar by amplifier...
After reading these posts are you giving any thought to changing your resistors… not to another value or manufacturer but with the thought that the existing resistors may be out of spec from daily Use?
Update. Based on my experience changing the tweeter and midrange resistors last week i went ahead and ordered the phase and woofer resisters as well. They came yesterday. I havent done a large amount of research to determine exactly what these resisters are supposed to do but i am noticing...
Thank you. I get it. Yes… my first set… MAXXs were definitely not on the same caliber of construction as these monsters but still had a great sound. I think a system always has room to grow. I occasionally will hear sounds in the recording that i am convinced are real but less each day After...
I'm really curious about the tweak noted here. The use of stillpoints/HRS and 45lbs of damping...really? Can you tell me more about your perception of the magnitude of change in the dynamics. It appears from the photo that you have placed this weight right on top of the "can" behind the resistor...
Sorry to be safe and conservative but I bought the resistors from Wilson and they were stock resistors for my model. The new replacements all have the originally specified values (and I checked the olds vs the news as well). I didn't purchase the speakers new but have had them for quite some...
OK. I bit the bullet last week and changes the resistors on my wilson mains as well. I was not expecting a noticeable change but as some other forum members have stated, you have a lot of money tied up there to not try to get the best out of them. I only changed the tweeters and midranges...
