CH Precision - New Clock Sync

I followed this up with CH and I have placed my order for 2 cards!

    CH Precision C1.2

I would agree the GPS module makes a very big different to the performance of the T1. It should be a standard item on the T1 or at least you should purchase it as an option.

    CH Precision C1.2

Hi Bill, Having traversed down a similar path to you a few years ago now, I am happy to share with you my learnings: 1) I would buy the X1 before the T1. The X1 power supply will build the foundation for your sound and it will provide you with a more bottom up and textured sound, more akin to...

    CH Precision C1.2

Well, I have had CH C1.2 for about a week. It is still being run in and will take some more time to be fully understood and appreciated. However, at this stage, the differences are that it is more dimensional, a lot more depth and space and greater articulation of notes. It is also much more...

    Argento cables

I have tried them to connect the CH C1 to M1.1. I had the Jorma Prime cables. On the upside, it sounded more natural, fluid and improved clarity compared to the Prime, especially female voices. On the downside, the staging was thrown further back, reduced presence and the dynamics were not...

    Any Jorma Statement owners here?

I have CH gear end to end and previous owner of Jorma Prime Cables. I have tried the Statement and yes, it is better than the Prime but in all honesty, it is no match for Crystal Cable Absolute Dream. The Absolute Dream is better because: more air, punchy, directness and conveys more...

A new drive mechanism for the CH Precision D1 SACD player!!!

As I understand it, Esoteric ceased to be an OEM a few years ago so they do not sell anymore drives to third parties. So this has caused CH, dCS and many others a few issues.

A new drive mechanism for the CH Precision D1 SACD player!!!

Assuming the source is true then this is excellent news. Like all mechanical devices, the D1 has a shelf life and it is good that CH has developed a pathway for replacing the transport mechanism. And given their track record, I am sure it would be an excellent transport. Developing their own...

    CH Precision D1

Despite all the great advances with streaming playback, including the Taiko, I still find the CD playback still provides me with the best sound quality, especially timbre and upper mid-range. So I really don’t mind getting up to change CD or LP. Besides, I have over 6000 CDs that are...

    CH Precision D1

I have had the C1 and D1 for the last 4 years and I also upgraded to the latest CH Link HD connection. In combination with the X1 and T1, I believe it is still a world class product. I don’t feel that I am losing out to anything against other brands although I have not heard the WADAX Reference.

Any experiences with Soulution 755 phono preamp?

Hi Gian, I agree with your comment. My comparison included the X1, although the X1 served both the P1 and L1. And even though I did not buy the 755, it was a better phono for me.

Any experiences with Soulution 755 phono preamp?

I have listened to both the CH P1 and 755 and I own the P1. The 755 is a outstanding performer - clean, fast, engaging, emotional and has all the details you ever need. It is better than the P1 for 3 reasons: depth /space, top end clarity and the bass. The P1 is no slouch but it is not in the...

Quatuor Ebene - Beethoven The Complete String Quartets

I don’t hear compression or peak limiting on my system but I do recognise every system is different. And so I am clear, I am not making a judgement on anyone’s system, I just don’t hear these traits on my system.

Quatuor Ebene - Beethoven The Complete String Quartets

Quatuor Ebene is recognised as one of the great string quartets today and their release of the Beethoven complete string quartets is very welcome by me. Even though it was recorded over 7 different locations, the sound is universally excellent to outstanding. If your system is resolving, you...

Are there more differences than similarities between CH Precision and other top Swiss brands?

I have owned all CH, Solution and Dartzeel and here are my thoughts: CH = a great all rounder but geared for smaller works (chamber, jazz) and chamber orchestra. Soulution = muscular that is great for symphonic works, rock, indie music - try War on Drugs!. Dartzeel = great for rock, hip-hop and...

    Phono cable recommendations?

It is the difficult question as cables do not exist in splendid isolation. I tried both the Siltech and Nordost and settled for the Siltech. If you like an adrenaline rush, the Nordost was wonderful but I just couldn’t live with an adrenaline rush forever. The Siltech was understated but it...

Stillpoints Ultra 6 v's Critical Mass Systems Centre Stage 2

Recently, I upgraded my system and as part of the the process, I tried a bunch of of these devices but not the Center Stage Feet as I am not sure we can get them in Australia. I can, however, make some observations on the Stillpoints. Like Steve, I found them robbing the ambient of the music...

A Parallel High End Adventure and its relationship to High End Audio

It is an interesting and a good idea but commercialisation is going to be difficult. Most passionate audiophiles would consider themselves to qualified audio “experts” in some shape or form and would struggle mentally to pay for the professional advice. For example, would you see audiophiles...

LFD Cables (phono and I.C.) from the UK, cables as components

Hi Mike, If the post came that way to you then apologies. It wasn’t my intention to question you or anyone or the LFD cable. I am just sharing with people my journey and it is another angle, that’s all. There are different types of listeners and depending on your taste, process for selecting...

LFD Cables (phono and I.C.) from the UK, cables as components

I am very pleased that you are enjoying your cables Mike. I do agree that cables form a core part of the system and they play a very important role. However, all cables have their own voice. My experience tells me that as a listener, you need to know truly what voice you want to hear...

    New Firmware Update

I am sure the CH boys will be more than happy to scratch your itch to upgrade. I would have thought a preamp would make a big difference to your setup. I have already blown my hi fi budget by 5 fold so enough is enough! Lockdown is bloody expensive.

Hi fellow Melbournian. No. The had to change display cards as the current manufacturer has stopped selling their display cards to CH. Reasons unknown.

    Gigawatt

Well, I have just splurged out on the LS-1EVO HC cable and it is superb. Transformed my listening experience. Lowered the noise floor, provided image stability and much better canvas to paint music. Only catch , it will take 3 weeks of solid listening to hear it all. Well worth the cash...

Jorma Statement v Origo speaker cables

The Origo lacks mid-range and is quite analytical. For warm and fuzzy systems, Origo will be ideal. The Statement on the hand is more fulsome, better base and so much much more balanced. And more musical. But you will pay for the privilege.

    New Firmware Update

CH released firmware updates for C1, D1, T1, P1 and X1 during the week. These are largely to fix a few bugs but also to cater for a new display board as the old ones are no longer available to CH. These new firmware updates also fix a few labels that are not politically correct! Amazing...

    Ch precision...p1

Hi Byrdparis, While I cannot comment about the X1 with P1 as I don’t have such a set up, I can confidently say that the X1 made a huge difference to the C1/D1 on my setup. What does huge mean? A darker background with improved separation being painted on a wider canvas (sound staging)...

Share your experience with tweaks etc for your CH gear

Hi, A few observations from me: 1) I am not going to start a debate on Roon but because of its architecture and communication protocol, the Roon server plays a very important role in terms of SQ. The C1 end point being very transparent, will show this matter up very clearly. I have tried...

C1/D1 optimisation with Streaming E/T card

Marshall Nack first documented this tip and I was somewhat sceptical initially with his advice but he was quite correct. If you have a C1/D1 combo and you want to enjoy it to the max, you should not have the C1 connected to network. Having the C1 connected to the network does have an impact...

    Incredible L1

A few observations from me. For historical reasons, I ended up with a CH front end and a Soulution pre and amp (725 and 711). I have also auditioned the M1.1 + L1. The Soulution and CH pre+amps make an interesting contrast. The Soulution possesses a more bottom up sound and could be argue a...

Audio Beat describes the CH Digital System in depth by Roy Gregory

Thank you Ralph. It is very kind of you to reach out. I will PM you for further advice. This brings us onto the question of CD spinning vs streaming. I have no doubt streaming is the way of the future but in the meantime, it is a question of switching cost. I have over 6000 CD and 1000 LP...
