As a perspective Legacy owner I am curious about the amp. Its been replaced by much more expensive amps so I’d like to hear about how they compare. I bounce back and forth between the Legacy and Coda to drive Legacy Calibres that I hope are in my future.
No pics but lots a great stuff spinning tonight:
The Cure - Paris
Autechre vs Hafler Trio boxset
Butthole Surfers Matador Records reissues.
Vivenza - Réalités Servomécaniques
I’m interested in the Lyra but my system is already a bit forward so something a little laid back would be a better fit. Also pondering Phasemation and MSL. Not sure where that’s going lol but will need a new art I. The next 6 months.
my phone is a current injection type so no loading.
I currently have an AT33PTG/II and for the money it seems like a great value. As I rack up the hours, I’m pondering my next step.
ART9 would be obvious but I’m not looking for incremental gains but rather I want to be wow’d.
I’d like to find something with low resistance (under 10ohms). That...
Space Afrika Somewhere Decent to Live
Not brand new but the vinyl has sold out almost instantly when available and I was fortunate enough to get a copy this time around. Go me.
My attraction is that it’s a great late night, lights off and light the candles, drink in hand or other vices if you...
Maybe I’m wrong but I thought that a transimpedance phonostage needed more gain for higher resistance carts. Like a 1 ohm cart needs less than a 20ohm.
if this is correct then why would a company make 2 flavors of a given phone stage; one that’s 0 to 5 ohms and one that’s 5-40ohms?
I’m sorry...
I am reading this thread with great interest as the Allnic unuts are very popular here at WBF. I’d be curious, and I hope I am not detracting from the conversation, if the Phasematuon EA-550 or 1000 is in this league?
I decided to route some cable stands for the Fideliums I picked up. It’s more out of necessary but they turned out good.
half inch clear polycarbonate routed to a design I came up with.
Now working on revising the design for power cords.
I had lots of issues, it had more gain than advertised which made it less than ideal with 99db sensitive speakers. It’s biased purposely to fully drive the tubes so every few months I had to replace them. There always seemed to be 1 in the new set that was noisy, so it’s like a 3 week ordeal...
Thank you, my experience with tubes hasn’t been positive and so I’ve been looking at staying there. Musically, my record collection is filled with metal, alternative, electronic, power noise, punk, reggae and dub with a touch of jazz. I figure if it can handle the craziest stuff I have then Jazz...
I feel like I never hear about Vitus’ phonostage a though it seems u detector they are world class. I’d absolutely love to hear that magnificent system you’ve got @Audire
My current amp is good. It’s an Odyssey Kismet stereo amplifier. But I’m looking at Coda. I’m. Or unhappy mi d you, but looking to move to the next level.
I see them mentioned and always with positive remarks. I haven’t heard any but I feel like, from what I’ve read, I have an idea on it’s...
Def-Leppard Pyromania. I worshipped this album in 4th grade. I eventually moved on to other music and could care less about them.
But 20+ years later as I was composing my first album, little bits of that record would pop i to my mind and it actually helped me to rethink my transitions and such...
Gorgeous table. Wow. Like sculpture!
Regarding her question about adjustable torque, both the Technics 1200GR and 1200G have settings (switches, no knob). It changes the presentation a little. I run the lowest torque setting with reggae, Jazz or neofolk/acoustic music. I run high torque with...
