Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I can’t wait to hear more. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully I can get the streamer up and running to compare it to my current server/streamer which is only a TAD below the Taiko.

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I’m also digital only. Hookimg jo the streamer today to see how it compares with The Memory Player streamer /server I use. It’s nearly as good as the Taiko, so it’s a large task.

Waversa EXT Reference and Reference PLUS

Using the Ref unit and it does all of this. I’m sure the plus upgrade is even larger.

    Waversa new 'EXT-2' series announcement

Using the ref unit and it’s amazing. Never realized how dirty my signal is. I’ve used optical converters for years and it’s not even close.

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I know this thread may be dead, but I'm not sure where else to post. I have now used the EXT Ref with my Brinkmann Nyquist mk2 and recently installed the EXT 1 in front of it. These products are just amazing me in how they shape the music. They make digital much more like analog than digital...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

Thanks. Love the DAC now that I’m using the Waversa Ref, it show how much this dac can do. Amazing.

    DAC comparison and recommendation request

It all starts with the speakers. Rooms can. E tamed or livened up with basic room treatments of quilts and record cases etc. For me: Speakers, sources (isolator/filter, clock etc must be in this equation), preamp, amp, shortest speaker cables you can use, cords, interconnects, stands stuff

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

Fully get it. My Brinkmann does both separately. I'm not sure, but it may also change PCM to DSD, but I can't remember. lol.

Best high end speakers @ $100K

My favorite is the time and phase correct VANDERSTEEN System 9 which is their Model 7 EXTRM and Sub 9 subs. Match them with their purpose made amps and new preamp (this fall) and I’m in bliss (when fed great source material)

    DAC comparison and recommendation request

I had a similar list last year. I bought the Brinkmann Nyquist mk2 as it was by far the most analog in my system. The Waversa EXT Ref takes it to a level that I didn’t think I’d get to. I also like the PBD and of course can’t go wrong with MSB. If I could have afforded the MSB middle dac with...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I’m not big on hyperbole. Never have been. I know that when I post it may sound as an absolute, but I always realize we hear differently. When I find a device that sounds good to everyone, 5eres something fundamental correct going on. I too am digital only as I can’t keep getting up to clean...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

Ok. It’s been a few weeks. Totally burned in and it’s been a blast. I’m using the EXT Ref. Haven’t had a chance to use the streamer yet as I only wanted one change at a time. I words for what the ref unit does. Re read Michael’s review and you have it on a nutshell. To get the same words and...

Michael, are you still using an optical converter with the Waversa?

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

Michael, do you live near a Vandersteen dealer? I went with Vandersteen Treo's years back when I changed my ProAcs after over 20 years with them. I haven't looked back and I am blessed to have been able to listen to most of the high end speakers. I now have upgraded to the Quatro's and get...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I would never guess with digital. There are just too many variables. I'll probably be getting a Waversa streamer in to see how it compares to my imbedded one in the Brinkmann Nyquist mk2 as well as my external streamer which is better than the internal one even with the extra connections. I...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I know that my EXT1 needs about 50 hours to build up the magnetic field. I"m sure you will love that unit as I was shocked at how good this unit works compared to all the optical isolation devices and medical filters I've tried. You relax into the music and I think it's because it's lower in...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

I can easily see that the Ref and Ref plus are much better, but I dont' have the funds to go that high until I get the new Vandersteen Preamp that should hit the market soon. That's my first need in my system. I'll go from there. IF the EXT1 is better than the optical devices I've had in...

Waversa EXT-LAN Reference and Streamer - My Take

EXT 1 Ethernet incoming. I'll burn it in and run it through the wringer and see how I like it vs the optical isolation devices I've had in. Pretty excited to get going...
