    Anatomy of A Fall

I understand. Doesn't mean I have to watch a 2 hour and 30 minute movie and come away feeling unfulfilled. Just my opinion.

    Anatomy of A Fall

We both thought it was very good but not great. A very ambiguous ending.

    2024 Academy Awards Nominations

We saw American Fiction last wee. Must say I was a bit disappointed. Seems it was having a hard time figuring out how serious or comedic it was going to be. The overall theme was great but probably could have better executed. Jeffery Wright was excellent.

    Staged

Last evening we were having a difficult time finding anything to watch and came across “Staged” with David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The premise is that during Covid two actors whose West End play is halted are convinced by the director to carry on rehearsing online using. It takes about an...

    Killers Of The Flower Moon

You probably made a typo inserting Brad Pitt for Bradley Cooper in Maestro. We watched Maestro over the weekend and enjoyed it.

    Napolean

Saw it last week and it was not great but much better than most of the reviews I had read. It needed to be either edited shorter or released in an extended version that filled in many gaps.

    Killers Of The Flower Moon

Finally had the opportunity to go see it yesterday. This is the type of movie that the critics love and the average movie goer thinks its ho-hum. I enjoyed it but did not love it. It could have been edited down somewhat but can't say in which scenes. DeNiro played the role to a T. I have...

    Favorite TV shows thread

I am sure there are many individuals that will never consider watching Deadwood due to the language, the violence, and the nudity. I would never suggest they should give it another try.

Last week my wife and I decided to rewatch all of Deadwood in its entirety after so many years. We are down to the last 6 episodes and I don’t want it to end. One more 12 episode season would have been so much better than the deadwood movie. Little doubt that for the most part it is as foul...

Special Ops: Lioness | Official Trailer | Paramount+

We enjoyed Lioness. It did have some shortcomings and I found it a bit humorous how the Zoe Saldana/Dave Annable relationship is a mirror image of the John Krasinski/Abbie Cornish relationship in Jack Ryan. One's CIA married to a Doctor. I thought Lioness brought up some interesting points in...

    Golda (2023) Trailer

Saw Golda this afternoon. It was ok but far from great. They could have cut 30 minutes of Helen Miren lighting cigarette after cigarette out of the film and replaced it with either background of Golda or gone a bit deeper into the war.

    OPPENHEIMER - Official Trailer

Just returned from seeing Oppenheimer. Very well done. As Steve noted you need to pay attention to pick up on all the dialogue, but it is well worth it if you do. There are so many fine performances even within some of the smaller roles. Robert Downy Jr. probably will get a supporting actor...

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One | Official Trailer (2023 Movie) - Tom Cruise

Saw it this afternoon. It was okay for the genre. I’m sorry but I can only enjoy so much nonstop action in a film. The screenwriters had it pretty easy here as most of the dialogue was explaining why the various parties were chasing after the key. i must say there were a few humorous scenes and...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny | Official Trailer

We saw it last Weekend and both of us were pretty bored. It was basically non-stop weird chases. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 - Official Trailer | Prime Video

I’m going to miss the series. As Steve noted this last season wasn’t as funny as the first two, but I still enjoyed how they handled all of the open issues. They were able fill in a lot of the back story for many of the characters and we were able to see how both Midge and Susie got their big...

If those two series interested you then if you haven't had the opportunity to watch "Bodyguard" with Richard Madden and Keely Hawes give it a try. The first fifteen minutes hooked me and it was good all the way through. Just the right amount of twists and turns. Also, this has nothing to do...

We really enjoyed The Diplomat. There were a few scenes that were unbelievable or a bit over the top. In general the dialogue was sharp as you expect from someone who worked on both The West Wing and Homeland. I definitely hope for at least one more season.

    Single Drunk Female

We just finished watching both 10 episode seasons of Single Drunk Female on Hulu.
