Ongaku - Is it worth the money!!

The Malta was one of Fred Crane‘s many fever dreams. It hasn’t seen the light of day. I’ve seen mockups, and it’s clearly something that could conceivably be a custom installation type of affair but there are none in the wild. I am by the way a Vista owner. Those speakers are far too large IMO...

Do we need another high-end turntable? The Ars Machine M1

A subconscious homage to the Basis transcendence perchance? Transcendent sound without the transcendence price? There’s always room for better engineering.

    Phison PD2 and matching amplifier

SOTA engineering out of Denmark by a guru who does a lot of OEM work for other companies. Optimized for DSD like the NADAC. Fabulous fit and finish and modular and thus upgradable ad finitum. I am also selling the matching amp and I recommend using them as a pair. See my formal ad here...

The Incredible Importance of Fine tuning (to me)

Finetuning is everything. People get sucked into the Brownian motion of equipment whoredom and never arrive because they shirk that fundamental responsibility. I certainly have.

What Frantz says is essentially correct. They were in a CNO 7 figure system. Worth a listen. I don't know where you could hear them. Jeff at High Water Sound in NYC is one dealer who carries Cessaro.

Ron, I am not sure where you are on your speaker quest, but a friend heard these in Hong Kong at the AE show and was amazed: http://www.monoandstereo.com/2016/06/cessaro-qian-long-ultimate-field-coil.html

Say what? Did you just stumble out of the opium den? :p I make no claims regarding science. I am breathlessly awaiting science to unfold. Again, this is dust from surrogates. We need to wait on the companies to speak (or not).

What relevance does that line of questioning have? He conducted a crude experiment. He generated some questionable results and dubious semantics. So what. Forget about Amir. How would you frame the question? What would you measure and why? What do you look for in a transport?

Opus, you are an amusing fellow. You like to dissect people's blabbering with pointed, Zen master type questioning. Unfortunately, language is failing my sentiments in this discussion....just schizophrenic snippets....

NO, NO. Intuitively, I have always thought the transport was as or more important to the equation. Thus my interest.....;) A stock laptop or computer has always sounded wretched to my "ear"

The MicroRendu is an amalgam of technologies and you have to SYNTHESIZE their collective claims which can be easily done by reading through their respective literature. Here is Uptone (http://uptoneaudio.com/products/usb-regen): Many of these "arguments" get lost in semantics and the...

There is no logical fallacy here and nothing to see or really think through. Its an academic exercise and one party is mute. That is fine and that is one form of an answer, but why waste the time delineating your measurement equipment alluding to future developments, measurement schemes, etc...

"Tool" is US collegiate slang for engineer. I have seen "back leakage" bandied about in regards to SMPS switching frequency noise that leaches back onto the mains due to a cheapo supply with an unfiltered output. The Blizzinator told me his Japanese supplies and better designs are relatively...

I'm Not Gonna Tell How Great My MicroRendu plus Sonore Signature Power Supply Sounds!

Not really. Altered performance due to back leakage from a SMPS that otherwise "appears" to be low noise in alternative settings (according to the manufacturer) is odd particularly when they are recommended to be used together. All this aside, it would be interesting (and even...

While I enjoy philosophy (it fills 99.8% of forum pages and what audiophile doesn't like the sound of his own voice....), it is not really apropos in this situation. Engineer/manufacturer claims his gizmo "lowers the noise floor." Measurements are made by another engineer (former midlevel...

Regardless of what you think about Amir, the lack of a technical counterpoint looks weak. That being said, if Steve and others are happy, so be it.

Evidence of actual optimization of the microRendu is absent. Swenson Inc have not provided measurements despite direct challenges to do so by Amir on ASR (which I copied to CA). Mike plans to measure his device. Should be interesting.
