    Capital Audiofest 2023

The NOLA rooms both the Grand Ref and the Champ sounded fantastic. After I heard the big one I sought out the smaller Champ upstairs on 8 I think and was not disappointed. Open baffles makexsome great sound—also loved the Treehaus and the new Clayton Shaw speakers. The beauty of the Treehaus...

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

OK just swapped in my Audiophysics on the BATs and I can get the volume I need for Springsteen. Thank you Jeff Fox at Command AV in Falls Church for my Audiophysics and Ayre. I have wide ranging tastes but what Jeff sold me is home.

    Capital Audiofest 2023

I was in that room today and OMG you nailed it. I wanted to hear the Vinnie Rossi but the Boenicke swept me away. I’m easy but this was some good sound.

Not sure that video link will open but the band (?) ((composer??)) is Ghost Rider. I heard this artist in two rooms.

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

What hath God wrought? I heard tracks from this band (?) at CAF the last 2 days and called one up on Room on these new Maggie’s. WTH I’ve never listened to this kind of music in my life but I’m — entranced. These speakers were $1800 via USAudiomart...

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

I was in the Maggie Room at CAF yesterday too, listening to the brand new 2.7i. Sounded marvelous. Price was not astronomical. Also heard the new Clayton Shaw open baffle Caladan—again lovely sound and very reasonable $3 grand price.

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

After a week of playing nonstop I think the Maggies sound amazing. Today I swapped out the Ayre VX5-Twenty for my BAT VK55SE monoblocks. Good sound but the BATs need to warm up. They haven’t been turned on since last winter due to the heat they put out. I’ve moved the Maggie’s back and further...

    Ron’s New System

Ron I too will be at Capital Audiofest both today and tomorrow. Would love to meet you! I will be possibly the only middle-aged female attendee who is not a wife or GF dragged along. I went last year for 2 days, only heard a fraction of what’s on offer.

    Ron’s New System

I’ve lost track—what amps.are you using now? Jadis 100 with EL34s? That’s the last update I remember!! And what does a “contemporary 2023 system” sound like? I’m sure mine doesn’t sound like one either.

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

I moved the speakers further apart and my chair further back and reduced toe-in. Sounding good. At this point I like the tweeter panels on the inside.

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

Thank you sir! I will swap the speaker (tweeter) positions and aim them flatter. The instructions from Magnepan seemed to stress toe in. I’ve had them running all night on various recording of the Bach cello suites as the former owner told me they need 200 hrs of break-in and he’d only played...

Finally got a pair of Maggie’s

I’ve been reading these forums for a couple of years getting the feel of the place. I got deep into the postponement and final arrival of Ron’s New System. I was an English major and grad student so I love a good story esp with dramatic elements. Today I drove 2 hrs to Breezewood PA to pick up a...

Yeah and FOMA should have been FOMO from the get go. He's changed the title of his post now.

    Upgrade/repair for Genesis 500, Genesis 501 and Genesis APM-1

Hi Koh's and other posters, I have had my Genesis 500's for 15 years. The salon I bought them from new went out of business a while ago (and they kind of sucked anyway). I contacted your company last night via your "support" email address for info on how to repair one of my speakers--the right...
