Got my NextGen Studer A80 Repro Cards installed and clocking hours on them. Very impressed with them so far and Jeff was easy to work with making sure I got what I needed.
The only gear I had to compare against were the original Studer cards and a pair of SEPEA Playback Amplifier with output...
I sent through a purchase request on the NextGenAudioSystems site yesterday for a pair of the Studer A80 Repro Cards, looking forward to trying them out.
Hi Bill,
I did not see the need as the JL Sounds card has re clocking after isolation built in and the I2S lies have a short run to the DAC.
I have he Intona already on the USB in and was surprised how another level of Isolation on the card added further improvement.
There is a guy here...
Have to share this with you guys, If you want to make a major improvement to your Lampi then there is a 200 Euro addition which will beat all other modifications, valve changes.
I have had my Big7 for just over 2 years now and loved the sound from day one but was always thinking it may be...
Tested pretty much everything except HQPlayer, so short answer is No.
Been trying to avoid going down the powerful computing route again towards good sound, that after several years of learning how difficult it is to do right and I am also against upsampling, not saying either is bad but for me...
Hi Khonfused,
No problem with DSD DOP into the Amanero card on the big7 from Wtfplay and it does sound great on 1x & 2x DSD, I have not gone for the DSD upgrade with Lukasz yet.
I would like to see Amanero get DSD raw/direct working and then I will flash firmware on the Amanero and the...
New release of Wtfplay with DSD support.
wtfplay 0.5 is now a serious challenger in the DSD arena, while it had unsupported capability previously to read DSD DOP files I was still blown away by its PCM sound which was a clear winner against all other players.
Now with DSD supported I have...
Good call Joel.

Cheers, Pearse.
I am using an audio PC which is detailed in my signature Joel.
I have a small monitor connected to it and use a Logitech Wireless Touch Keypad to run wtfplay, in wtfcui it is easy on the keypad to browse through music folders and files, select files and create playlists.
Cheers, Pearse.
SSD is just for music Joel.
The OS (about 50Mb) gets loaded of a USB stick into RAM on boot and once up and running you can pull out the USB stick if you want.
All you need is an old 1Gb or larger USB stick for the OS and you are good to go once you follow the good instructions provided on the...
Ah OK got you marslo, i had assumed you went under the hood yourself!
Good to hear that Lukasz is making improvements to the Amanero board as I have heard improvements from 3.3v from lipo battery direct supply to the Amanero boards and I have another Amanero board setup with a reclocker circuit...
When you say you replaced clock on Amanero board did you replace just one of the 2 clocks on the board?
There are 2 clocks, 22.5792 & 24.576 so you would need to replace both to cover all frequencies, I assume you did so would be interested to find out how you get on with sorting out the issue...
Hi Joel,
I currently run a Samsung 1Tb SSD for music file storage.
I did however format it to FAT32 before loading all it with music files as I am told it is better but I have not carried out comparisons with NTFS formatting against FAT32.
The only testing I have done so far is to format a PPA...
No GUI just a simple Text based window that helps you select your music files and transfer them to a playlist window, hit enter and you have music if you want to avoid all the command line work, there are excellent guides on the site which should answer most questions.
It will play on any laptop...
Hi Kedar, I tried it against earlier Bughead versions and no contest.
wtfplay is just so musical compared to all other software I have tried and I am coming to the conclusion that a lot of it is down to the small footprint and the low load on resources.
The developer put in a lot of time on...
We have finally seen the release of wtfplay http://wtfplay-project.org from the developer (I first heard it in basic form over 2 years ago) which is a minimalist Linux based player which for me beats all previous software for real serious audiophile listening that I have tried and lived with in...
