SME 3012R is a nice middle class tonearm, which created a hype in WBF,
as this arm has a nice synergy with the different vdh colibri cart derivatives .
I do have a SME 3012R on my Techdas AF3p, as many people do have this tonearm at home,
so this arm is always a good start for a tonearm shoot...
As I own the AF3P as well, I would recommend a faster/more dynamic Tonearm for the Air Tight Opus 1.
Please try the Glanz MH-1200s Tonearm plus the Phasemation 1200 Headshell .
If you like Kuzma, the Kuzma Safir 9" is nice as well.
As second cartridge you can go into an even more soft and warm...
I bought the last pair available from the Distributor, but unfortunately this pair had some optical damages, which I did not wanted to except, as the speakers were very expensive, compared to the original launch price.
To my knowledge, this pair was sold than as ExDemo Pair from a French...
After having spent some hours with the X-quisite ST cartridge, I have to say, that the cart plays according to the given price point,
but to arrive at this performance level, it took some time.
The Cart is very heavy (16,6g) and not every tonearm can host this weight with the standard counter...
Having had over the last years YG, Wilson, hORNS and my current Avalon Osiris system

it is always the balance of resolution, efficiency, in room frequency response, "speed",
tonal character which makes a speaker great...
There are too many brands out there, no chance to give them all a try, but I like both brands.
JMF and Symphonic Line have indeed a very organic sound signature.
Heisenberg (2x500sinus/8ohm) and JRDG 825 (4x450w/8ohm) were sounding power constraint in comparison to the current
Accustic Arts...
Now it looks like, that the company Koetsu stopped their services and my personal Journey to Koetsu will find an end as well.
Now I am considering, which Koetsu I should buy to keep this great manufacturer in the best memory.
A standard wood body?, painted with Urushi, like the founder, the...
Unfortunately I had still no chance to listen to the
X-Quiste cartridges
until now in my personal set up,
so I decided to geta ST version of the cartridge to personally find out, if the performance fits my taste.
In the meantime I heard the X-quisite cart in Demoes and at a customer home, but...
As this thread has still many readers, I like to continue my story with carts in this segment.
One of my current focus is comparing tonearms!, Very important is the use of carts of the same type.
Trying some different carts, I had the chance to get in total 3 nearly brand new
Accuphase AC-5...
Just to bring this thread up to the current status:
The Jeff Rowland Gear finally left my house after some very satisfying years, being replaced by the
AUDIONET Heisenberg monos Amps
and
AUDIONET Stern Preamplifier
Which was a little better, than the Rowlands. Specially the Heisenberg were...
Since a couple of month I am playing around with the actual generation of Soundsmith cartridges.
The new body Design looks much more modern, but as my personal point of view,
I still like the old fashion style of the former generations.
But with a modern deck, the futuresque body form might...
Fortunately the Koetsu lovers managed the change of sound from Sugano Father to Sugano son.
So I am sure, there will be again Koetsu lovers for the future sound of Koetsu.
The German distributor received beginning the year a first batch of Koetsu carts, cheaper models (I received some) He trusts in an ongoing Koetsu business.
a new 2024 Koetsu price list, reflecting the new situation and new distributor processes, were sent to the German Koetsu dealers recently...
In facebook it was asked for a firm confirmation, I am still waiting for this.
my latest informations (German Distributor) were different from the information the UK distributor might have announced.
The German Distributor (Axiss) is currently in Japan, we might get in a couple of days some...
The MSL 1030 is a 1:20 SUT. I assume a parallel resistor as MSL recommends the SUT for carts between 0,6 and 6ohm.
In Germany the Phasemation T-1000 has a similar price , the Consolidated Audio silver 1:20 as well.
I do like the little darker T-1000, some friends prefer the silver Consolidated...

I am using 1:10 Consolidated Audio for High Imp carts, like Soundsmith or vdh.
For low Imp carts, like MSL and derivatives I prefer Kondo SFZ.
For all others, like Koetsu, Etsuro and more I prefer T -2000.
your decision should be very much cartridge driven
Congratulation Ron!
I definitely like your decision to move over to the professional sales side of the High End world.
Your personal contacts to the industry will enhance your product portfolio on offer easily,
even if you do not want to go this step soon, your potential upcoming customer base...
please have a look to my new signature.
I retired from my former major Industry job and found now the time to associate more professional with the Audio Industry.

PP-5000 can give you the feeling to be a little brighter as PP-2000 due to the higher resolution of the diamond cantilever. In my set up it was fine to listen with silver tonearm wires to my PP-2000. Using PP-5000 I prefer high quality copper cable.
only a little fine tuning, but this can make a...
To my ears one of th best pure MM Phonostages on the market is the
Air Tight ATE 3011
http://www.airtight-anm.com/components/ate3011.html
If you have the chance, give it a try.
It is an interesting comparison to compare the Air Tight with the direct competitor from Kondo
to understand the...
if you get with your Lampi DAC a balanced and well received sound, you will found with the following Phonostages a similar signature:
Allnic H-7000v
Phasemation EA-1200
if your budget will give you the freedom:
Allnic H-8000 DHT
Phasemation EA-2000

my personal favorite for long distance family luxury traveling is a used

Neo has more integrated tonearm bases and not longer DC motors, Neo runs with AC motors.
I prefer the sculptural Design of the older Invictus jr tonarmbases.
But they were expensive to build, so I can understand the design change to Neo level
