The Number One reason to go this year, the Freaking Weather will be probably some of the best I've since first my Chicago AXPONA ten, years ago...

Stereophile reviews the JBL 4367, finally

That statement seems kinda abstract to me, however I'm assuming he is saying the 4367 is somewhat analytical and he prefers a warmer sound. I prefer a neutral sound myself, with that 15" woofer if the source music has bass at least down to a solid 40hz they will reproduce it. I don't care for a...

Stereophile reviews the JBL 4367, finally

These have been my main speakers since 2016, so I've been waiting for this review for awhile now. I am curios as to why do a review now, but better late than never. https://www.stereophile.com/content/jbl-4367-studio-monitor-loudspeaker

Anyone hear the 30.7? Impressions? Make sense to spend THAT Money on a Magnepan?

I did return to Audio Consultants back in 2019, was still looking for more dynamics and impact in the bass. I found it in December 2019, in form of the Mini 30.7's or 30.7's for Condos. The triangle shaped bass unit, dynamic drivers in a open baffle, plus some DSP electronic's for the...

    Magnepan needs your help

Your system is really looking good Josh, including the projection screen tv. I took a couple of days off, so I can take my time on the drive back. I'll be attending the December 11th event, at Quintessence Audio. Really looking forward to hearing the Condo Mag's, seeing their size factor is...

    Engstrom Eric

I heard this speakers at AXPONA 2019, they were playing some Linda Ronstadt and I thought my ears were going to bleed. With too much high frequency energy, Linda should not do that to your ears.

Power Response and the Last Dates of Magnepan 30.7 Road Tour

In the video Wendell Diller of Magnepan explains about the importance of power response in trying to reach a more realistic stereo experience. I might try to make some of these dates to hear the 30.7s in a different room than I did in Chicago. Plus I like talking to Wendell Diller in person, to...

Anyone hear the 30.7? Impressions? Make sense to spend THAT Money on a Magnepan?

I would like to return to Audio Consultants in the near future, and put the tweets on the inside. Now they don't have to worry about accommodating six seats across, two rows deep. FYI, I clipped the Boulder amp when I was there by myself on Thursday night. Playing the theme from Shaft, at a...

GT AUDIO WORKS AXPONA 2019 RM 1430

This will be in my top five of rooms to visit, I have been wanting to hear these for several years. Seeing your current profile pic, I was really impressed by how clean and professional they look. Long time planer fan and Maggie owner, I am really interested in the open baffle woofer sound. Troy

    $10,000 loudspeakers

I still love my JBL 4367's, going on two years, that 15' woofer will not need subs. Well unless you are into organ music. Imaging/soundstage are excellent, with that waveguide they are not your fathers horn speaker. Dynamics are in class by themselves, well except for other horns. I got mine as...

Renaissance is sold out for AXPONA 2019: As I found out trying to book a room today

Wow, I knew AXPONA keeps growing but didn't expect I would be too late to get a room onsite. Bummer, for 2020 I guess I will have to book my room in August or something like that. Also the Renaissance told me the other hotels on their site were also booked up, but I would double check that just...

Do you require spatial cues for emotional engagement? Or are they for analytical listening?

Yeah I definitely worship at the altar of imaging/soundstage, regarding my speakers. The imaging is the first that drew me to my current speakers JBL 4367's, none of that boxy monkey coffin sound for me. I don't feel an emotional attachment to music if sounds doesn't sound expansive and beyond...
