I must admit that I haven't listening to digital in a week. The sound between the two is so different. Best word to describe what I hear is how clean and open the sound is
Perhaps these changes will also open the opportunity to look for an alternative digital system, better matched to your system and current preference. Maybe a tubed digital system!
Just think, the cartridge is new, new interconnect from tonearm to the "new" phonostage. Once this equipment breaks in and settles it should be something wonderful. Enjoy!

Very true and I was fortunate to have had the rack installed and managed to place the phono stage on the lower three shelves and had them burning in for 2 weeks before the turntable, arm and cartridge was set up so I know I had 150+ hours on the phono stage and cables before everything else
Those last few pages in particular were an interesting read, and I enjoyed the info and discussion about acoustic treatment.
While vinyl is just not for me, I can more than understand its attraction, having heard the excellent vinyl playback in PeterA's and Madfloyd's systems. Enjoy!
Steve simply wonderful to know that it has all come together for you with the Techdas/Graham/anna/Lamm and rack.
I can just about imagine how all those small changes in the room could alter the presentation in a positive way, as the visit is still so vivid in my mind.
Thank you for the lovely memories.
Best regards to the other half and enjoy your return to the new venture into vinyl.
In another month or so, I head to China, HKong and Vnam for work, but will try and see if some visits on audio do materialise.

Congrats, Steve! Happy for you......in the last 2 months since my maiden foray into analog, I have probably spent only 10% of my listening time with digital. Clean and open is exactly how I would describe it too!
It has been 2 weeks since mine has been up and running and I haven't listened to digital at all. I am smitten. I have nothing to compare this to in my system but I am stunned as to how clean and open things sound. Somewhere in the scheme of things this new CMS Black Diamond rack is also a factor in what I am hearing

I am not surprised at all....... In fact, I wonder why I waited this long myself to take the plunge into analog! Its amazing.......just when one thinks one has reached the pinnacle of audio reproduction, up comes along something that forces a paradigm shift!
As to the CMS, I am still trying to muster up courage and resources to pull the trigger! They certainly must be primary contributors towards lowering the noise floor.
Standing by for more views from you as your rig settles in......

The CMS is a rack, a very good one but still a rack and has nothing to do with the noise floor, that honor goes to Lamm's incredible phono and pre, LP1 + LL1 followed buy the AF1, the current SOTA. The CMS makes a nice foundation for the equipment.

FWIW, I think this rack is something special, especially if you read the patents behind the science involved, so much so that I have just ordered a full Black Diamond rack for my amp and power supply

I really like these CMS racks. My amp stand(s) arrived yesterday each with a Black Diamond shelf. I am really sold on the science behind these racks and a big shout out to my buddy JackD201 for his suggestions and all of his input and support
This is what I finally replaced...a pair of Zoethecus stands and some 1 1/2" maple wood butcher block
Speaking to both Jack as well as Joe Levrancik from CMS there seems to be a 3-4 week settling in process where the sound might not be so good and then open up afterwards.
So far the bass seems to be tight and there is a better grip on the music
You might want to speak to Joe at CMS and have him explain the science and math behind his racks as they really have changed my perspective on racks, so much so that the Stillpoints became unnecessary. I still have them under my speakers and am now thinking about going back to the Wilson spikes. My buddy Marty will be visiting next week for a few days so I am going to wait till then until I make a decision
