Glad to see they are making more progress. I have heard them the last couple of years in Munich and thought they were better each time.
I thought they sounded unrealistic - they played some piano music and the high notes were fired out of the speaker like a machine gun. I remember literally bracing myself for the "attack". Very fatiguing. Just one man's opinion.

Audiokinesis - I know Duke from back in his days living in NOLA. Great guy and his speakers never sounded better. They don’t shout at you like most point source speakers and don’t sound as boxy. They give a more realistic and natural presentation. You feel like you are listening to music versus speakers. He probably needs to work on making them sexy looking to entice the mainstream, but those who value good sound will appreciate what he is doing.
Thanks for noticing that we've made improvements! With input from intense listening sessions by my partner James Romeyn and his wife Debra, we've made a few little refinements here and there that apparently add up.

We hear what you (and others) are saying about making our speakers look sexy. We've signed them up for a gym membership and then we're going shopping for some short shorts...

"You feel like you are listening to music versus speakers." Wow. Can't buy words like that. Thank you very much.

I really liked the Duke speakers I heard a few years ago, but I don't think the time has come for speakers with yoga pants.

Isn’t that interesting! I have a good friend who thought the new Botticelli’s were the best speaker he has ever heard...and by a country mile! If it weren’t for the crazy high price, he would own them immediately. I haven’t heard them, but I know that my friend has pretty good hearing and loads of experience in the high end. Not saying that your opinion is in any way wrong, just amazing how different two a’philes opinion of the same speaker and set up can be.
Just goes to show you, that under all circumstances, it is best to hear gear for yourself in your own room and with your own set up....otherwise be prepared for a costly disappointment.
