I'm sure we all have our miscast pet peeves. Be it the fault of the execs, the director or the actors themselves, what roles do you wish were played by someone else? Here's a list of mine

An Interview with a Vampire - Lestat - Tom Cruise

Batman Forever - Batman - George Clooney (made Michael Keaton look like a good choice)

Godfather III - Eli Wallach, Andy Garcia, wait for it, Sofia Coppola

The Matrix - Neo - Keanu Reeves

Alexander - Alexander - Collin Farrell

Dick Tracy - Dick Tracy - Warren Beatty (Madonna is miscast for everything IMO)

Star Wars Episode I - Both Annakins, McGregor as Obi Wan too

Star Wars Episode II and III - the older one with bearded McGregor

Top Gun - Charlie - Kelly McGillis

X-Men 1,2,3 - All of them! Except Patrick Stewart and Ellen Page

James Bond - All of them except Connery and Craig

Never Say Never Again - James Bond - Sean Connery!

Prince of Thieves - Robin Hood - Kevin Costner

Sofia got the job when whatsihername (exactly) bailed. Kevin Costner is miscast in everything too. Godfather III i never watch ( a couple times was enough over the years), but I and II are probably among my top ten. Lemme think if there's anybody else I'd add to your list. Back soon.

Think Hugh Jackman was well cast as Wolverine ... So much that you can't see anybody else in that role ... Not that there were anybody else :)
I would give Keanu Pass with the Matrix too ...

Now miscast people ...
Antonio Bandras? In any movie
Madonna ? In any movie
Ice Cube ? In any movie...
Leonardo Di Caprio in Blood Diamonds
Rihanna in Battleship
Don Cheaddle in Ironman II ... Please bring back Terence Howard in Ironman any subsequent number

And the winner is
Di Caprio as J. Edgar Hoover! :)

or Leonardo as Howard Hughes

or how about Leonardo as anyone

Let's not be unfair .. He was good in some movies, these come to mins: Catch me if you can ... Shutter Island, Inception, Revolutionary Road, Body of lie or in Gangs of NY although when sharing the screen with Daniel Day Lewis most actors shrink to microscopic. He has worked himself to become a decent if not great actor ..

Marlon Brando in "Guys and Dolls"
Roger Moore as "Bond"

Woody Allen as James Bond

Timothy Daltry as Bond

This is a good list, Jack, though, while Keanu Reeves is dull as toast most of the time, he somehow works for me in The Matrix. Everything works for me in The Matrix. Nothing works for me in the sequels.

Kevin Costner - its easier to come up with a list in which he seems like the right choice, and that would be Bull Durham.

Roger Moore -- licensed to do hair, maybe.

Dick Tracy, Batman Forever, Godfather III...these are such bad movies that no one is good in them. Hell, Pacino couldn't save Godfather III.

I'd say Dances With Wolves was his break out movie in every way

FoR Kevin Costner wasn't it "No Way Out"? Modest but real success to establish him as an actor. i would think... Gene Hackman was the bad guy in this movie .. Where is he now?

That was a very good movie with an excellent ending but not my favorite Costner film

But that was the one that kind of made him, No Way Out..My favorite Costner movie and actually one of my favorite movies of all time .. "The Untouchables" Ok the thread isnot about favorite movies ..Sorry :b but "The Untouchable" is so visually rich and the Stair scene at the train station, a Classic ... It introduced us to Andy Garcia (likable in this role by the way) and the acting by Connery and De Niro ... I coudn't resist and thinking about it ..I will watch it before the game in which the Giants beat the Cowboys .. :)

I totally forgot about The Untouchables. That was a good film indeed

Quiz: Stairway scene in Untouchables was inspired by what famous movie, by which famous director?

Alfred Hitchcock if I were to guess as DePalma was a big Hitchcock fan
