Hello everyone. Just letting you know that P-O (company founder) at Entreq is shipping to me the following:

----

OK, we put together a mix of some different cables. 2 EA Cupper S/S , 2 EA Silver S/S 1 EA Cupper with XLR , 1 with RCA 1 EA Silver XLR and 1 RCA.
1 Olympus Mini and 2 Silver Minimus.
Also will try sending a Copper plate and 1 Aluminium plate with bindingposts. So you can compare.

----

I don't know how this testing will go. But let me say in advance that I could not praise P-O/Entreq more than I am now. To volunteer to have his products tested by sceptics, participate in sharing data with the community in my book has value beyond measure. Pun intended :).

Thank you so much for the ideas you have been sending me, especially you Fiddle Faddle.

The equipment will be here this weekend I think. I have them for 6 weeks so will keep you posted on what I plan to do and get further feedback.

Should be interesting what the verdict will be. Myself being very sceptical even though I reside in Entreq country.

Please try moving the box around to see how measurements respond to placement.

Just a belated update that the Entreq is here! Thanks to the kindness of PO, I am in the possession of an Entreq Olympus Minimus. Here she is sitting on my test bench:

I must say the enclosure build quality is excellent. It is made out of Walnut (?) or similar wood. Finished in some kind of oil (matte). Nothing remotely like what we had seen in the picture posted in the Entreq thread. The unit is also quite hefty. It was excellently packed in a mini "crate."

I am getting ready to go to AXPONA but when I get back, I will put it through the paces.

The Olympus Minimus has a single grounding terminal by the way. I will be testing it initially on my Audio Analyzer which has balanced and unbalanced input and output plus a dedicated grounding terminal. If someone has suggestions on how they think I should hook this up, I am all ears :). Otherwise I will just make something up. :D

Thanks again to PO for kindly loaning this device to me for testing.

Why not listen first?

i suppose the point is:

1. What does Per Olaf suggest you measure or where do you look?
2. People have said/heard that this stuff helps level/match impedance across different connected pieces of equipment...so if one takes equipment impedance measurements without Entreq, and then when the full system is all hooked up to Entreq...does it change, even out?
3. People say it lowers noise floor...measure this? ie, noise floor of system without and with Entreq in
4. People say it lowers grunge generally...so the signal should be more 'accurate'...is system music, tone signals, etc more accurate with/without Entreq? And does it make a different to measure not just tone signals but a pattern of music going thru system? or even a piano note?
5. Anything else?

All from a layman, Amir...again, you have put your time where your mouth is and said measurements are important, and taken the time to actually do this...appreciated and respected. Will be curious to learn more.

For the record, i will say I have enjoyed the Tripoint Troy in my system, and very much like the Entreq products (Receivus, Wraps, etc) that I use and in many cases connect to the Troy. Generally, i do not find the audible differences difficult to discern. Equally, i have found in a kind of blind test that i can tell the difference.

I have, on 1 occasion, woken up on Sat am to find myself working while listening to music...and switching tracks and then CDs repeatedly for 45 minutes while trying to concentrate on work. I eventually felt something was wrong and immediately thought tubes are getting old until i double-checked and realized that they were about 11 months...checked to see if flatscreen was left 'in standby' which i noticed makes a big difference...made sure SMPS Oppo was off...irritating that it just felt like the system was 'unclean'/'noisy'

...discovered one of the Cables had been accidentally disconnected after my wife had vacuumed the evening before.

...plugged it back in and the system returned to its clearer, cleaner signal...that's my blind test...ie, when i did not even know i was being tested.
