Thank you both, Harlequin and wisnon. I like Lukasz approach to manipulate the signal in a very limited manner - this is the strength of his DSD and R2R boards.
On the other hand DCS has developed very sophisticated solution when algorithms play an essential role, it cost more and is more complicated , if not too complicated - 5 filters , 4 upsampling modes , in the end we do not know which one is closest to the natural acoustic signal , we may only select the subjectively most convincing.

Has anyone already heard the new "Der Siebner" compared to the Big7 or GG?
What's the price of "Der Siebner"? I couldn't find it on the Lampi website...
Do I get it right, that "Der Siebner" doesn't offer the possibility to tuberoll the rectifier tube (at least not from outside, like the Big7,and GG do)?

I am not really into streaming but I do like the DCS looks and sound.
My info is the Rossini DAC needs to be paired with a DCS clock to get the best out of it and that if you can find one, a DCS Scarlatti partnered with a Rossini and a DCS clock will be hard to beat for Red Book and SACD
The DCS build quality is top notch as is their service back up and they hold their value well which are the reasons I would go for DCS as opposed to Lampis but obviously a personal decision

No. "Der Siebner" is more something between Lite7 and GG.

Its the Lite7 special edition for Germany/Austria and Switz. All German internals, including Mundorf caps...supposedly closes the gap to the Big7 and very limited options allowed.
Based on what I know of the Lite 7, I wouldn't go for one with a recti. But then I haven't heard this one. the Lite 7 was ok but not like the B7.
I know someone selling a use DCs for a big discount and is likely still on the selling block a year later.
Digital is too flavor of the month to count on holding value.

For my ears do the Lampis sound a lot more natural and lifelike than any DCS stuff I have heard.
In Munich there were several setups with the Wilson Alexia (?) and the one system with the all-in 4 box 90k DCS top model sounded the worst for me.
Just earpiercing cold and thin. Not at all like natural instruments sound like...

+ 1 - it always sounds that way to me, I have heard that set up in multiple shows. And the VPI avenger just eclipsed the Rossini.

Yes, its an homage to Germany (his biggest market). Beefed up Lite 7 with fancy German internal parts. The blend of parts apparently catapults the performance. However, it won't kill the B7 as that is tube rectified and many people like to play with an additional lever, i.e. chasing tube rectifiers. Incidentally, one can but SS rectis for a B7 with the appropriate tube pins to connect then to the Dac.
Siebner will have limited option ability, so can be built to stock rather than built to order. Only available in DACH...Deutschland/Austria/Helvetic Confederation.

Not just Mundorf caps...mostly all inside is German sourced. I am getting a demo unit in 2-3 weeks to evaluate...before moving on to key Swiss customers.
