Wow, a friend of mine mentioned today that my under construction Aires-Cerat system was in the WBF. Ironically, I have been on this forum a LOT, following the turntable blogs in planning an uber table worthy of this system. Joshua had given me an opportunity to audition the Incito Preamp and Kassandra last year. I was able to directly compare the Aires-Cerat Kassandra to Vivaldi 2.0 DCS stack running with a prototype amp and Voxativ Dues speakers. I found myself turning up the volume on the DCS to hear the hyper etched detail-for about 10 minutes. Then returning to the Kassandra for hours on end. A friend of mine in the industry managed to tune the system to the extent that 2 famous tracts played through the Kassandra were the best he had ever heard. And he has heard or owned practically everything. This system when, when complete, will trounce that one. I am not speculating, I simply know that to be true. I feel very blessed to be able to experience, let alone own a system of this caliber.

Respect Billy for jumping into the Aries Cerat world. Many might have thought you already had an end game setup. This audio journey we all go through. I have a new Kassandra Ref II coming end next week, and will also post my review. Stavros is doing such innovative things, and I am looking forward to joining the party!

OMG, I just saw the first page of this blog. Thank you Joshua for the generous description of me as the Ultimate Playboy. I think a

more accurate description might be that I spent a lot of time seeking the perfect love. But just as we seek the perfect audio system,

the ultimate or end game has more to do with inner joy than the specifics of our mates or our gear. I am shy hence the 2 posts in

two years. In my embarrassment I would like to say thank you for the warm greetings to this site. The acoustics firm that is

consulting on the the new audio room came from Steve Williams blog on his most recent sound environment. I first heard of Aires-

Cerat from the WBF Forum. I continue the journey with seeking the right turntable and music server for my new system. I guess all

the AS-2000s are taken? To Kimberli if you are reading this, I swear I AM committed. If I can figure out how, I will post a few photos

of the progress of the room, my home system, and my girlfriend.

my home system.

A perfect match then for your Impera LE and the new Legend amplifiers! I think Stavros has heard the Air Force One in Malaysia, you should ask him.

Billy, you obviously love music, as I do in my smaller way, and I can imagine you are gagging to hear your system in it's final form? I am super excited about my Kassandra Ref II which is shipping out Monday to me in Spain. I'll post a mini review on here after it runs in a bit. My previous gear was mainly Audio Note and their tubed NOS DACs and SETs.

Air Force one premium with titanium and SAT arm are definitely in the running!

You might as well want to go full throttle with this 12"

Hey Stavros
Thank you for the addition of photos for each component. Hard to convey the exceptional art your components render-like describing a Bugatti Chiron. Words don’t work. I hope you make it to Austin or even better if I can come to Greece.
Tango, glad you are around. I consider you an excellent resource in the search for the right turntable. While I can’t possibly afford to simply buy an Apolyt, an Air Force One, an AS-2000, a Kronos and an EMT, hopefully you and others can guide the best choice for a single table to match my system. Again, thanks to everyone for the shared enthusiasm.

I recommend AF1P if you listen a lot of big band, classical, orchestral music. I like Kronos on non-orchestral new recordings. I love EMT on jazz of older recordings 50s 60s. and monos. I have great hope that the AS 2000 will do them all.
At your level, I suggest you talk to ddk for the AS2000. If he decides to make one for you, there would be no point in getting the AF1 at all if you haven’t already plunged into it like me and Rockitman.

I had hesitation on the Apolyte because I haven’t heard it works properly anywhere and it is too big and cumbersome to assemble.

Kind regards,
Tang

I am by no means a TT guy, but would check this out:

and

http://lumenwhite.com/mystere_uk.html

Air bearing compressor with extremely high Torque. Minimized standing waves due to shape of the chassis. Exclusive metallurgy, etc. Expensive at $60K, but not obscene.

Hi Billy
I guess the best path is get Stavros's phono stage, run it in for say 4 weeks, then get some longish term demo TTs in, preferably 2 at a time to compare. I haven't owned a TT for some time, and can imagine the setup of these high end TTs is complex / dependant. But it could be the only way to know for sure IMO. But hey, what a great adventure that would be. I would love to do that myself!

Now which rural bank looks a bit vulnerable Ha Ha. :p
