Let me guess how this will go down.

Everyone on the Audio Exotics Forum will be unanimous in how amazingly perfect it all sounds.

Word will get to WBF that certain presentations were challenging or less than optimal/ideal.

Haha

Hope that some WBF brothers can attend the Gala and then post their opinions here.

CK, thanks for your good humour to my quip, v gracious of you.

But it’s true - every year the AE posters have 100% unanimous religious experiences at the show, a few post here that the sounds were far from fully stellar.

The Goebel Divin is a case in point, it could do no wrong on AE, here it was reported that it had all the problems you’d expect a 7’ tall multi driver monster to have at a show.

I know which report I’m minded to rely on.

I have had the pleasure of attending the AE show a few years back (2016).

What the team accomplishes in such a short set up time is astonishing from the playback I heard. The components are great and for those that can afford it kudos to them. Sure show conditions can be challenging and when new models come for a debut the manufacturer is there to get the most out of it.

It certainly is a show worth going for, if you are towards that end of town or on a hunt for the Exotic.

I have no affiliation to AE or product relationship to their brands, but do recognise effort and passion from this organisation.

. . .

Marc, I think this is way overbroad. I and many others liked the Divin Majestic.

Different people prefer different loudspeakers designs, and similar designs can be executed differently. I do not think it is fair to impugn all tall, multi-driver, cone-based systems.

I have heard the Evolution Acoustics MM7, the Gryphon Audio Kodo, the Von Schweikert Audio Ultra 11, the Tidal La Assoluta and the Rockport Arrakis -- all "7' tall, multi-driver monsters" -- and none of them had obvious problems.

Agree with Ron.

And it's obvious from the photos I posted that the newer & smaller Divin Noblesse debuted at this 6th Audioexotics Gala shall be more practical in home environment.

but none of those 'suffer fools' or 'casual set-up' gladly. and show conditions are by definition 'casual set-up'. moving all that air puts much on the room and system is be aligned and worked out.

less 'action' will have greater margin for error or sins of omission as opposed to sins of commission. easier to live with what is missing in a show than what is hitting you in the face.

but......if you want it all, then these are the tools for that if you have the means/passion/patience to enable them.
