Kodomo was talking about how he lets his wife use his system. Are you saying that you are like Tang's wife?
No, i think he hopes to get married or adopted by Tang. Think he has Zero(distortion) chance..

New replacement just came in today. The UNIVerse Optimum X. Mr.Mehran of Sora Sound said " David's friend is my friend." I had a bad karma with the Universe Premium. So, he sent me his to try.

Shouldn't matter, he will soon break it anyway. This is his 5th zyx

Your mouth is more like a dirty toilet.

Listening to this new Universe Optimum, now I think it is rather fortunate my secretary broke the Universe Premium.

Kedar said the atlasSL at Gian's sounded "fantastic" on his SAEC 506. I happen to have one too so cant help to check if the man is right. ;)

Nice Pics Mr Tang--I notice the Teflon(?) washers under the nuts on the SME--- is that kosher?;)

Just asking!

That is wonderful news, Tang!

Please describe for us the sound of this new cartridge, and, if you can, please compare and contrast the sound of this new cartridge with the sound of the ZYX UNIverse Premium.

I did not say best. The SAEC sounded fantastic with the Atlas SL in Gian's system, especially given that the Opus had sounded so much better than the Atlas SL before on the Bergmann Sindre in the same room. Now, the Atlas SL with the SAEC was rocking, high details, dynamics, drive and stage. As you know, I did not like the Atlas SL on your SME (and Shane does not like the combo at his either). The SME is slowing down the Lyra and making it sound too lush tonally. Maybe it is coloring it, and you need to tweak it to get it to sound more like Lyra. Also note that Jonathan Carr before moving on to SAT with the Lyra, was using a heavy arm FR64s with the Lyra, maybe it did similarly to what SAEC does

I was thinking about it. But I dont like paying for a premium just because it is a limited production.

It will probably come as an identical cartridge without the expensive limited
numbers later.

Richard Mak seems to be very enthusiastic about it from his review, https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2018/08/25/zyx-universe-optimum/.
I havent had much time with it. But it sure sounds quite different from the UNiverse Premium. Curious why Mr.Mak did not mention about different presentation in term of staging comparing to the Premium because it is so obvious from the outset.

I dont know if my version is 4 ohms or 1 ohm like his. Mr.Mehran kind of sent me camouflaged. I need to ask him.
Anyway give me some time and I will give you my feedback comparing to the Premium and the Opus. I no longer have a current phono stage like Mr.Mak. So my finding will be more relevant to you since you also dont have current phono.

Kind regards,
Tang
