6 more hours to go and it will be the deadline. 3am here. I hope I get to see someone get AD so that Ainge wouldn't have to be pushed to include Tatum. I heard AD is fine with joining the Knicks. Knicks can give Pels their lottery pick. :)

And what a coincidence, LAL vs Boston tonight, in court, not the out of court trade war. :D

Clippers trade Avery Bradley to the Grizzlies in a salary dump. The save $2 million against the cap and both players they took back have contracts that expire at the end of this season - Garrett Temple and JaMichael Green.

Clippers now have 16 players so have to waive (or trade) someone - likely Milos Teodosic

Phil - you were right about Avery - never did much for the Clippers

Edit - Clippers waived Marcin Gortat instead of Teodosic. Not sure about that move. Clips have too many guards and lost two big men in recent trades.

Clippers and Lakers just did a deal.

The Clippers are trading Mike Muscala to the Lakers for Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac

Elton Brand, former Clipper power forward, is in his first year as the General Manager of the 76ers.

He made a big splash at the trade deadline with a number of very good moves. Philly looking good in the East

Avery should be the last ex-Celtic for Doc. The Jerry West era is in full swing, Mike. And that should be a good sign.

According to Woj, the Lakers are clearing roster space to sign Carmelo Anthony.

I wonder why LAL should clear cap. Melo should come 'cheap'.

(@RealSkipBayless)

Wait, instead of landing Anthony Davis, the Lakers traded for Mike Muscala and cleared cap space for ... Melo???? What a letdown.

Yes. And the Eastern Powers get stronger.

Raptors add Marc Gasol. I felt the Ainge should have done that deal for Baynes.

Bucks get sniper Mirotic.

Boston is intact, trying to make its chemistry work. And waiting for July 1 for re sign Kyrie, hopefully. The bad news is that AD is still there for Ainge to ponder on.

Say it isn’t so. A blob of useless energy who doesn’t know team play nor how to play defense

I believe AD is there for 2 reasons

1. Out of spite they don’t want to trade him to where he wants to go

2. Ainge I’m sure has put a bee in the bonnet of Pels GM to wait until season end.

I think so too, Steve.

And I think the Pelicans management group is sending a message to Rich Paul, Davis and company that you guys don't hold any leverage, by even naming 4 teams that AD wants to play. We will decide what we do with AD and where he goes. That is of course, between now and about early next season wherein if there is still no deal, the Pelicans will now be sitting on a hot stove.

As for Ainge's plan, by July 1 thereabouts, he would have known where the Sacramento pick stands and if attractive, that could be a good trade piece. Plus the Clippers' too (thought both have some protection. And by that time, he would have known if Kyrie is staying put or not. If Kyrie bolts, then I feel there is little sense in giving up a nuclear package for AD for just 1 season, thereby risking to lose all the young players and friendly contracts for the next few years for nothing.

Bucks and Raptors appear to have gotten really good upgrades. Your thoughts on the East Phil?

Stevie, I'm scratching my head. Z for Muscala? Muscala is like a Diet Kevin Love. Diet on the shooting, D and certainly rebounding. Whuh? Well, they dumped Beasley so I guess that's good since they open a roster spot. Still, I was liking Z!

In other news.....nobody has been talking about the Dubs reserves. Over the season the improvement can now easily be seen in the 4th quarters when Kerr sits his big guns. They are developing their depth (Talent AND Chemistry) in-house. More bad news for the rest of the league.

Imo, both teams did really great on the trades, Jack. Mirotic who is average 17 ppg to the Bucks? That's a wow. And they have a very good coach in Bud, so, I expect them to be solid till the playoffs. Toronto got a good trade too, can't ever discount Marc Gasol, he can shoot and is a big piece of lumber inside the lane. So what about the C's? I feel they need to take at look at the seedings so that they do not have to play BOTH teams in the playoffs. :) Ainge did save his assets for a possible big trade on July 1 onwards. I believe he did the right thing. Their issues was with chemistry (till now) and lots of C's fans are wondering and screaming that what in the heck is a $30m man coming off the bench for and scoring 2 points. Hayward should be a started but his rehab has changed the chemistry. C's started to win more games with him coming off the bench. But I'm confident he will get his old job back. He is dealing with 'mental' issues (confidence and the fear of another injury) and that is normal to me. At this point we C's are just happy he can suit up each game and even do dunks without those Derrick Rose type relapse. Imo, the Bucks are favorites to take the East, but of course deep inside, I am not counting the C's out - just like the Patriots. :D

Jack,

That's because everyone is just waiting for their trophy presentation this June. No need to watch their bench. :)

I just saw on ESPN The Jump, Brian W. saying that the moment, or day the C's are eliminated from the playoffs, the next day they can start engaging the Pelicans with the AD trade talks. But whoops, problem is, Kyrie's free agency starts on July 1 and the Ainge will not know how much to offer the Pelicans in between those 2 dates because if Kyrie walks on July 1 or thereafter, it is useless to go all out for a deal to get AD. So more problems for Ainge. I really would have wished AD was traded already yesterday. :)

With the Wizards, Gortat IMHO was quite a weapon and now he gets waived
