SET amp owners thread

I prefer the landscape as well.
I just wish that the wires would connect at the back (instead of on top) for a cleaner look.

I understand - one advantage of it is proximity to wall for rack. Some rca or power cables need 30cm+ room before the wall. That said I can’t use a Bocch IEC due to size.

But then again, you don't want to have such a boa growing out of the top plate either, right?
If landscape, then I would like to have the sockets on the back.
But I think I prefer portrait anyways :)

For me the height issue of the “boa” hasn’t been a problem. It has always been the rear clearance.

had to compress pic...here I was testing Nagra VPA for potensial midbassduty, but my 300Bs were much better , probably due to proper stiff psu compared to the peanut psu in Nagra
Hi Leif,

Is that your turntable all the way up there? You must be really tall.

I like your simplicity.

Kind regards,

How do you deal with the long time delay from your 4m long subwoofer? do you use a digital delay?

hi T
yes it is an EMT 938, just sold
this was an emergency placement
I made 2 staircase steps removable and stashed the lch 300B under the stairs with its psu and freed space to rearrange left rack
now, on same level with Basis Ovation/Airtangent reference to the left, is space for upcoming Garrardzilla project
301 is with Ray at Classic turntables in Uk for refurb and new cnc chassis....next is 13,5 kg bronze platter and new bearing from Stefano in Vicenza

Nice. My Aries Cerat Genus (didn't build it myself, alas) is also a very simple circuit path: E280F in triode to interstage transformer to 813 in triode to OPT. The rest is power supply...
