I’m using Audience aR6-TSS power conditioner a few years, I’m very happy with the performance this power conditioner. Now I can upgrade this gear to get a brand new aR6-TSSOX by paying about US$1920. However, I’ve compared it side by side at the same time, it seem like the sound quality is not significant between aR6-TSS and aR6-TSSOX. Have you compared it before? Do you think it si worth to pay this money upgrade to get the OX version? Any input please advise. Thanks.

If you have already compared the two and felt the difference to be slight, then it is not worth changing. Spend the $2k saving elsewhere on more meaningful gains.

According to my local Audience dealer said, Audience will release their new power conditioner AR6-TSSOXM in soon (M = Morre).
Does anybody test it before? How does it compared with AR6-TSSOX in sound quaility?

I hope I have time to pick up on this Saturday. AR6-TSSOX is already very good in my home, nothing restricted power etc. Music is more musical and live, only problem is it gives better power even with power amp plugged together! I need to re position my speakers and room acoustic to accommodate this power. So I’m very much looking forward to this “M” model.

Only running for 2 days. Nothing stunning , only more smooth , more relaxing but it gives more power to amplifier than wall plug when connected all in the conditioner. Very similar to TSSOX version for now. Wait till it fully break in.

Very curious on your impressions on the TSSOX vs the TSSOX-M version - I just received a brand new TSSOX -M with the name now changed to aR6-T4 to mark the larger departure from the TSSOX.

Are you using it primarily with Au24 SX cables or the new frontRow power cords?

Using 24SX, but I tried FrontRow. FR is surely a step above , its more detail compare to 24SX. I will buy FR if add one more power conditioner.

Thanks!! Have you tried the FrontRow vs Au24SX to the conditioner or also from aR6 to amps etc.? Also, have you tried any of the other FrontRow cables (IC, speaker)?

Has anyone directly compared the Audience ar6 tssox to either the Audioquest 3000/5000 or Puritan PSM156?

I have experience with all three. The Puritan was better at reducing some transformer hum with a pair of Classe mono amps I was using at the time. It replaced an Audience PLC that was a generation or two behind the TSSOX and I didn’t feel anything was compromised making the switch. There are some additional grounding options with the Puritan that are probably efficacious.
The 5000 had it’s own transformer (?) hum that the manual indicated was SOP — I couldn’t deal.
In my main system I use the TSSOX with an SX pc that alone probably costs more than the Puritan unit. Haven’t felt the desire to do a direct comparison.

Is there any particular situation or need you’re trying to address?

Thanks kindly for your reply. I asked as I had an opportunity to acquire a TSSOX at an attractive used price. I have 2 systems, one had the AQ 3000 for a year, and just before I bought a new house I got the Puritan in the 2nd system. The change of house forced me to scramble and a comparison between the AQ and Puritan was not in the cards.

Settling into the new house and making some updates means I’ve barley have time to cobble one system together. I was thinking if someone had a clear opinion on what was the pecking order between the three it would help me feel confident it was worth buying the TSSOX, or not.

Since posting this a few weeks ago, time ran out and I had to decide even though I didn’t get any feedback until now. (which I’m thankful for your comments just the same) I did take a leap of faith and purchased the TSSOX. Life has conspired against me and I haven’t had any opportunity to listen to it, let alone have time to compare.

To date my power has been decent, and the equipment has no glaring issues. Having a good power distribution and letting less EMI / RFI impacts through to the electronics has been a worthwhile persuit for me. Blacker background, greater separation of performers, and an improved sound stage are part of the improvements. Some day I’ll get the time for a shoot out.

I compared 4 major brand against Audience TSSOX with 24SX. When I buy my second power conditioner , I got T4 with FrontRow.

Let me be the first to ask. What were the 4 major brands?
Power conditioner performance will depend on the quality of power from your network. They do have different levels of performance but under same level of performance, u still need to find the one suits your system & taste. The 4 others I tried are similar on price and good reputation. Don't just read a review and make a decision. The only way is to try.
