This is not tampering, but connivance, and I think Silver is just fine with it.
Adam Silver IMO is not David Stern

Can you remember when Chris Paul was coming from the Pels to the Lakers and Stern kayboshed the deal because in his mind the move would make the Lakers too powerful

James' This is just the beginning proclamation, it reminds me of his first proclamation in the Miami arena with his two main stars ~ not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, till he hit 8 championships promised.... He busted out in his first year... Reporters called out his deer in the headlights syndrome. And I forgot the rest. :D

Regarding the Lakers - Pelicans CP3 proposed deal way back when, there never was a trade.

The NBA was running the New Orleans franchise at the time. David Stern, then the Commissioner, was acting as the owner of the team and he decided that the trade was not a good deal for New Orleans and stopped Dell Demps from completing the trade.

I know "Laker Lore" believes otherwise. However, owners stop deals they don't like or don't want a regular basis in the NBA. The owner has final say on any deal for his team.

Yes, Demps did agree but he was not authorized to complete the one-sided transaction.

Subsequently the Clippers offered New Orleans a better deal that Stern did approve.

Perhaps I am splitting hairs as Stern did stop the proposed trade but after all then years Clippers fans are weary of the false Laker claims. No offense intended - just clarifying the facts.

Have I said that I can't stand James

Half the Lakers team is gone for AD and that pompous arrogant king says it is just the beginning

They obviously have given away the farm for the next 2-3 years, a "must win now" sensation cuz when the king id done , the Lakers will need to rebuild and thus why would AD stay

This reminds me of a few years ago when they traded for a bunch of old guys such as Steve Nash and every one of them went out with injuries. Lakers paid Nash his entire contract even though he never played again

If there is a redeeming feature, it is that the Lakers get to keep Kuzma who will be the King's second "hand"

LeBron James reacts to Anthony Davis trade: 'Just the beginning'
From NBA.com Staff

LeBron James' streak of teaming up with superstar talent will reportedly continue in Los Angeles. This time, that talent is joining him, as the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers in exchange for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and a war chest of draft picks.

James, however, could not be more excited at the prospect of joining forces with Davis. The 34-year-old superstar took to Instagram to voice his approval of the deal, exclaiming, "AD on da way!! Let's get it bro! Just the beginning..." The post was accompanied by a photo of James and Davis, with the latter edited into a Lakers No. 21 jersey (a number that hasn't been worn by a Laker for more than one season since Josh Powell in 2010)

James is surely optimistic that the arrival of Davis -- combined with whatever the Lakers do with their remaining and ample cap space this offseason -- will launch the Lakers into title contention. The Lakers spiraled to a 37-45 record after James missed 17 consecutive games due to injury in the middle of the season. Los Angeles has not made the playoffs since 2012-13, when the team was swept in the first round by the Spurs.

This season marked James' first absence from the postseason since 2005, when he was a second-year player with Cleveland. The Lakers' midseason struggles fueled reports that James and the Lakers were eager to acquire Davis, who had made it known to New Orleans that he preferred to be traded to Los Angeles. That union became possible after the Lakers jumped from 11th to fourth in last months DraftLottery.

The Lakers ultimately decided that pick, two future first-rounders, two future pick swaps and most of their young core were worth acquiring Davis, a six-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA First Team honoree. It would appear James feels the same way.
I think I dislike him more than you :p
And can you/we please refer to him as "self declared King"

sadly their ages and a year of rehab and missing the entire season has lowered their value to other teams

For me the saddest thing would be that they stay with the warriors but become like Cousins, a shadow of his former self and the Warriors then decide to trade them

Please again, don't compare KD and Klay with Cousins

Cousins is a big baby bully while KD and Klay are among the most intelligent, smooth and elegant players out there (as far as I can tell) ;)

Will Rondo remain as the Lakers PG?

Who's left with Ball and Hart gone

Im shocked that Vegas odds are making Lakers 4-1 favorites to win it all and Warriors are suddenly "passé"
I guess Rondo will be gone very soon as he is trouble and probably won't bend the knee

I dislike him as much as you, Christoph. :) Maybe even a little bit more. :)

I have no feelings for him in his first 7 or 8 years, when he won nothing. :D

The DECISION came and he started to be hated by lots of others.

The declaration of NOT 1, NOT 2, NOT 3... NOT 8....forever etched him in my most hated list. :D

The playoff wars with Boston proved to me he is a king - a traveling king. There are youtube videos counting his 6 or 8 steps in a pivotal playoff game which he won, of course.

Fast forward to his bolting again to LAL and controlling the team's movement, picking his motley crew members and now the machinations of plucking out AD from a team where he had 2 years of contractual obligations (this season and next season) and causing LAL for ship out virtually all their good young talents.

One compares these (which includes shoving and firing his coaches) to the demeanor of one Kawhi Leonard, who basically has not said a word of boast, of greatness, yet already has won 2 titles (same as James' - he has one with an * ) :D and is a great gentleman in keeping all his ill feelings against the Spurs quiet while just being hurt and asking to be traded. I never heard him say he wanted to play for Toronto. A true pro, and and true athlete.

The Lakers don't need a PG because LeBum doesn't want to share and likes to keep the ball to himself ;)

And maybe the Lakers do not need a head coach because James, being the point guard, wants to run his own plays. Rondo defies his coach and argues with his coach's plays, but LeBron point blank does not need to listen to play calls as he is always looking for the open man to shoot the 3s, like Battier, Mike Miller, JR, and Kyrie. He is playing coach and PG. :D His coaches are now paid to keep track of fouls and timeouts. :D And you saw his reaction when JR dribbled the ball away, James was coaching him a lot more than the coach on the bench. :D

Quite a triumvirate - LeBron, Kyrie and AD.

Would it even be twenty games before Kyrie turned on LeBron again and threatened to push him off the edge of the flat earth? :)

It's back to the blueprint of GM James in Cleveland. Telling top brass to ship out No1 pick Wiggins to get Kevin Love. So now, AD is his LOVE, literally. :D The troika of James, Irving and AD. I really can't wait to wake up one morning and read the news that JR Smith is now a Laker. And Tristan too. Both are RIch Paul properties. :D
