I think the Western conference this year is not only going to be one of the best seasons ever but it could also be filled with many surprises. The battle for LA will be epic. Silent but in the wings are also Blazers and Utah. In fact the only one we can count out are the Warriors who might act as spoilers

I think we are in for an amazing NBA season..
I love KD but I can't cozy up to his decision to join Kyrie and the Nets. As someone said earlier that Kyrie might wear out his welcome this year before KD returns next year

Well, Kyrie can call his big brother James and apologize all over again for some absurd reason. Maybe for not joining him in L.A. :D

Wow... Focus on his championship quest. Like he wasn't doing that in New Orleans.

Davis is no dummy. He not only has the chance to prove himself but if he does and feels the LA love and re-signs with the Lakers he has the chance for the team to become his when the King abdicates his throne

My concern with Davis is his inability to play an entire season.as well as his inability to do anything in the playoffs when he was a Pel.

If Davis remains healthy as well as James not reinjuring his groin I think the battle for LA will be epic

Let's not forget that the Nets this year belong to Kyrie. If he doesn't overstep his welcome he relinquishes that next year to KD

That duo is one I still cannot understand. I have to wonder if KD will see another ring playing forBrooklyn

I personally doubt it.

When LeBron leaves, he better leave a note to AD that AD will have his team, just like his Pelicans. And worse, AD will be inheriting a kingdom with no subjects, as all picks were all exchanged for HIM! That note of such a scenario might lead AD to tell Rich Paul to trade him back to Pelicans. After all what has he done by himself in New Orleans? Never got past the first round In 7 years, that's one.

You hit it right on Phil however AD did say he wanted to play with LeBron in LA so he won't be the number one man but if he does excel he does have a chance for the Lakers to build a team around him BUT......the Lakers have no draft choices though the end of this century so it will be tough.

Same could be said for KL and PG as they have made it clear that they are on a 2 year deal so it's produce or they move on

It's all about rings

This article from ESPN speaks volumes as to what AD is thinking and it is obviously not beyond this year with the Lakers, much the same as KL and PG arent thinking beyond 2 years with the Clipps.

Its all about money, rings and players telling owners exactly how it's going to be

Anthony Davis: Rob Pelinka called 'every 30 to 45 minutes' during free agency

ESPN: You're only signed through this season. Do you think you will be a pillar of the Lakers for years and years to come?

AD: Honestly, Rachel, I'm just focused on this season. I don't know what's going to happen. I have one year here, so I'm going make the best of this year. And when that time comes around in the summer or, you know, whenever the season's over -- hopefully, around, you know, mid-June, after we just had a parade, and I need a couple days to think -- then we can talk about that. But until then, I'm trying to do whatever I can to help this team win this year.

Jerry West was interviewed on the Dan Patrick Show this morning (starts about 2 1/2 hours in if you are interested in the podcast).

What a class act he is. He took no credit for sighing Kawhi or Paul George and gave all the credit to Steve Ballmer for being a great owner and to the rest of the Clippers front office staff including Lawrence Frank and Michael Winger.

West even complimented Rob Pelinka and the Lakers for their work this off season.

Thank goodness Ballmer bought the Clippers - the team went from one of the worst run organizations to one of the well managed teams in the NBA.

as I said, this season could possibly change 40 years of me being a Lakers fan

I don't understand this, I'm fan of certain players and when they go to other teams, I root for the new team because of the player...

I’ve been a hard core Lakers fan Christoph for well over 45 years. I live and die the purple and gold.

Having said that I have never been a fan of the King and will never consider him a Lakers. Hopefully they retire his jesey as a Cav, never as a Laker

IMO, I believe AD will stay in LAL past this next season IF LeBron is in LAL, as James has still like 3 years in his contract. Assuming AD doesn't get his goal, the title, I cannot imagine him BOLTING elsewhere where LeBRon is not there. AD is now a certified LeBron stooge, with those covered mouth conversations while they were opponents ( I mean did I ever see Larry Bird talking with Magic or James Worthy with covered mouths, implying to the world that they are plotting to join hands in getting a title? ),to firing his agent and shifting to LeBron dummy Rich Paul, and ultimately formally joining James in LAL, the guy is the real 'brother' of LeBron, and not Kyrie. :D

I wonder if the reason LeBron is waiting one more year to relinquish his #23 jersey to AD is to wait and see if he re-signs with the Lakers

I believe it could be just that, thought officially the blame goes to Nike for not allowing it because they have an overstock of No. 23 Lakers jersey, if that is to be believed. :)
