If there is another downside I was hoping the Lakers would end up with D'Angelo Russell but so far Warriors are keeping him even if he doesn't fit

Warriors GM: We didn't acquire Russell to flip him

what I find interesting is that Rich Paul is an anointed friend of the King and basically is a mouthpiece for LeBron YET in spite of this friendship he states that AD is entering FA at the end of this year

As a result I'm not so sure Davis hangs around if it has been an unproductive year for the Lakers

Steve,

To me, that is an agent's strategy, maybe to get the max or whatever more incentive AD's contract was still from his NO days, and with LAL he might ask for the supermax or the ceiling. But if AD does not bag a title here with the Lakers, where will he sign with? Most contenders already do not have cap space, unless he wants to be the new king of New York (Knicks). Paul is a puppet of LeBron, I have to guess that AD stays with LeBron for the near term or till James' contract expires. 3 years is still a lot of years.

There are now some duos of PG ball huggers in some teams, and if Warriors will retain him, I imagine Steph will move to 2 guard if they are in the floor together with D Lo.

I like Iggy. Always have. A class act player. Warriors retire his number after they trade him. Now I read Clipps and Rockets want him with the Rockets able to spend the money easier than the Clpps. I'd love to see him as a Clipper

Jerry West was interviewed on the Dan Patrick Show this morning (starts about 2 1/2 hours in if you are interested in the podcast).

What a class act he is. He took no credit for sighing Kawhi or Paul George and gave all the credit to Steve Ballmer for being a great owner and to the rest of the Clippers front office staff including Lawrence Frank and Michael Winger.

West even complimented Rob Pelinka and the Lakers for their work this off season.

Thank goodness Ballmer bought the Clippers - the team went from one of the worst run organizations to one of the well managed teams in the NBA.

I just heard part of the interview, specifically that West said he has a small role and takes no credit for it. That is what TRUE great men are all about - talent AND humility. Though he worked practically all his life on the opposite end of the Celtics 'view', I have come to really really admire the man. And I could never forget that beyond the halfcourt shot against the Knicks, I was only 10 years then but saw it on a slightly delayed basis. It was the talk of our grade school basketball world. Hope to see him guide the Clips to a title now. :)

How bout that for a high bar...Echoes of Karl Malone when he joined the Lakers, with Shaq, Kobe and Payton.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka: ‘For us, anything short of a championship is not success’

Perhaps Pelinka should show how serious he is by putting his job on the line if they don’t succeed after all you can’t blame the King if they don’t succeed.

I rarely follow Nets games last season, and this is why KD chose them.

What Kevin Durant told GM Sean Marks about why he signed with Nets

Ali Thanawalla
NBC Sports BayAreaJul 17, 2019, 10:38 AM

While Durant himself hasn't publicly given his reason, his new general manager Sean Marks offered insight in an interview on WFAN on Tuesday.

"Well, he said a couple things," Marks said of his conversation with Durant. "He did say, and I don't want to get into the whole thing ... he did say 'Look, I love the system, I love how you guys play, I see how hard you guys play, you're never out of games, we could never take you guys lightly.' That was one of the first things he said. 'If we were up 10 with two minutes to go, that doesn't mean anything against Brooklyn.' That's a real credit to the competitive environment that [Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson] has really brought. He's spearheaded that."

Since the traveling king manifested his move to Lala Land was not just for basketball, things are getting to sound very familiar - words like REPLACED. And we are talking about a movie where LeBron is involved in. Note that this was in the SPORTS section of Yahoo. :D I wonder if things are all calm there in Vogel's headquarters? |:D|

'Space Jam 2' director leaves 3 weeks after LeBron James announced production had begun

Jack Baer

"Stop us if you have heard this before. A LeBron James production is swapping out decision-makers.

Terence Nance, the director of “Space Jam 2” starring James, is exiting the project and will be replaced by veteran comedy director Malcolm D. Lee, according to Deadline.

Per the report, Nance’s departure was described as “amicable,” with the crux of the split being the director and studio/producers having different creative visions for the project."

What kind of creative differences can a director and producers have over WB Looney Tunes characters and a basketball player? That is unless somebody wanted to butcher the toons like Netflix did for Archie, Jughead et al. LOL

Well don't forget that this was Mikey's role in the first film and LeBron who now is a Hollywood producer and budding actor, I bet he has to feel his role will trump that of MJ

I like KD. Probably one of the best players ever. I love to watch him play. Somehow , however I feel his decision to team with Kyrie could be ill fated especially with Kyrie playing the first year on his own as he tries to enamor his new team mates
