Yesterday I had the pleasure of hosting Leif S for a follow up listen to my system but so also to avail upon his manpower as the components had to be moved once again in the anticipation of the arrival of my DAC shortly. I thought this was going to be a short 30-45 minute exercise but as it turned out we literally removed every component except for the far left side of my rack with my turntable and controller etc. I have always felt that it is better to have a cable that is too long rather than a cable that is too short. Sadly this is what we found as the IC from my Doshi tape pre to my Lamm pre fell about 4" short so we had to take everything off once again and start over. Finally after about 3 hours of work we managed to get everything in position and functioning. The big downer is that all of the Center Stage feet were removed from under each component so yesterday and today has been filled with waiting for the CS feet to settle. Today was a better listening day

Below are photos of the current location of components on my CMS racks. To be decided is whether I keep my Playback designs MPS-5 more for all of the SACD's that I own. This will be connected to the new DAC via AES/EBU

BTW if anyone reading this is interested I find that even if I keep my Playback Designs MPS-5 I willingly need an AES cable to connect to the new DAC so I will have a pair of Masterbuilt Ultra SE cables for sale. If anyone wants to discover the magic of Masterbuilt shoot me a message

I did wonder why an all out design like techdas did not go for a dedicated turntable stand ala Goldmund and Rockport, et al.

It was a huge pain. I am going to have to order another longer pair of IC's from the Doshi tape pre to the Lamm pre. And yes, that shelf will be the resting place for the DAC
