I Spotted a Pure power 2000 ac regenerator for sale. Considering the unit cos I believe my wall power supply is probably unstable ; some evenings my system sounds terrible and sublime on other evenings. My system comprises Pass Labs Xa 100.8 mono blocks , MSB DAC and MSB TRANSPORT , and Aurender X100L. Tried calling Pure power by telephone but nobody answers. Question is can I trust the brand and would the AC 2000 be sufficient for my kit?

Hi Alfa ,

I used to own XA160.8 in the past; and had addressed this question to Desmond Harrington of Pass Labs. His response Was that is should avoid any in series filters, and Regenerators

Years ago I briefly owned a brand-new Pure Power 3000 AC regenerator (88 pounds worth). I was using it with front-end electronics plus two Sanders Magtech Mono amps. I returned it to the manufacturer soon after purchase because it both produced mechanical hum from within the chassis and through my speakers.

Before I returned it, I contacted Pure Power about this issue and was told that, given the hum problems I was having, the unit apparently was not compatible with Sanders amps. Given the manufacturer's lack of any suggested solution to the hum problem, back it went. I had no problem getting a full refund of my purchase price.

Thank you. What did get after this?
