Tidal Audio Speakers cables

Hi All

I would like your opinion and any experience on Tidal Audio Speakers cables.

in the past this manufacturer used to use Argento cables during the shows and it seems that many of the end consumers would choose Argento as their preferred speakers cables for their Tidal speakers.

Lately Tidal has listed a series of cables with their brand. Especially their speakers cables are claimed to be fabricated out of silver. In detail the silver core is being pulled out from a block of silver as a hollow conductor, which will then be polished and arranged in geometry and dumping into the surrounded tubes.

The concept sounds interesting but has anyone here any personal experience?

thanks

Hi Vienna, I was also looking at cables from Tidal Audio as I recently got their Preos preamp/Dac/Phono Stage so you need to use their Spdif cable with the Preos but as for the rest I had been comparing with Shunyata Sigmas And Tellurium Q Statements but have held off from buying as my dealer has another few cable Brands he’s trying which might suit me better. I know Tidal Audio Speaker Cables are expensive almost double what the Tellurium Q Statements are for almost the same length and trying to find reviews you have no chance if you had a dealer who might offer you a home trial or a showroom demo I’d say that’s the way to go even try them against some High end Entreq Speaker cable options too.And come next month or January I hope to be the new owner of the very secretive new Vimberg Amea Standmounts.

I can't advise you on Tidals cables but the Entreq cables work well with them. The Apollos are the sweetspot but Challengers are very good too and are the ones immediately below the Apollos.

Slightly old thread, but as I’m new...

I’ve got the Preos with the Dac, a pair of Vitus SM-010’s and a pair of Tidal Piano Diacera’s... I’d started with High Fidelity cables and swapped everything out for Argento Flow interconnect and speaker cables (FMR for phono, Flow for Spdif from Mutec USB 3+ to Preos and Serenity balanced between Preos and Vitus amps and Serenity speaker cables... I’m sure the Tidal cables are stunning and an end point, but for my budget I’m really happy with Argento cables... I’ll look to upgrade power cables IDC (currently home made Furutech).

Wow! Congrats...

Not tried them yet! I’d have to fit and listen immediately :)
i am thinking of the long breaking in time they need... 06638473-7156-4D2B-91A1-6E84F264859F.jpeg 69BF641E-6E1E-473D-A811-4EE18C230874.jpeg

Things of beauty... I’ll run them in for you ;-)

My High Fidelity needed run in, but the Argento’s sounded wonderful to me in comparison straight out of the box and just improved from there - they have had the biggest £/improvement after room treatments. Same may be true for the Tidal cables.

Hi Vienna, I noticed you had your Tidal speakers on a platform - wondered what they were and what difference they made? I had wondered about the benefits of speaker isolation - whether or not to replace the tidal feet with Stillpoints or Gaia or use the Townshend platforms. Interested in your views/choice/experience...

thanks.

ps. Have you connected your new Tidal speaker cables yet?

Hi Andy

These platforms (made of acrylic, sand and slate) were proposed by the manufacturer when he was studying my space and because of the wooden floating parquet.
Because of the speakers weight they were placed from the beggining on them, so cant tell you what difference they made themselves.
I can only tell you that I like very much these speakers in such an extend that i dont want to try different cables.
I think that at some point I will try these cables too.

Slightly off topic but I wonder if anyone has had experience with Organic Cables, the copper-based offshoot of Argento. I have heard neither in my system but I wonder if the Organic's might not be a better fit with my system. I use Contriva G2's with Purist Audio Design cables. No complaints but always looking to shake things up.

Hi Kenc, some years ago I had two Organic IC. And tested an Argento speaker cable, the entry level.
None really impressed me. At the time I had Tidal Piano Cera Speakers and Audiopax electronics. The Synergistic Research Apex Tesla, silver cables, made a difference and I had them for some years.
I moved to Contriva G2 and top Audiopax amps and preamp. The cables I am using are all Schnerzinger. Couldn’t be happier.

Hi Joao, thanks for your quick response. I have read your positive comments on the Schnerzingers here before. I have no idea where I could get my hands on them for audition. As you know, cables are all about system matching and I don't doubt you are getting great results. I wonder if they might work better with tube amps though?...for example. It's such difficulties that have kept me using PAD cables for some 20 years. When one is using a 5m run of interconnect it makes it even harder.:)

Schnerzinger cables are represented by Michael Schwab, the owner of Zellaton speakers in Germany.

His presentations on the high end show in Munich has always Zellaton, SS amps and Schnerzinger cables.
But you are right, if one can listen first and then decide is the ideal way to select. I just didn’t had this chance and made a blind purchase. Fortunately it worked very well.

In this internet day in age, I must say that much of my system has been built based on intuition rather than audition. Unfortunately there is nothing in cables except perhaps metallurgy that might guide a blind (deaf) purchase...and I am too conservative to take a
chance on this.

I have tried quite a few cables with my Contriva G2 SE and namely Jorma, Stealth, Wireworld , Audioquest, Kiber Kable at the end I was always returning back to my humble solid core 8 AWG copper VOVOX textura fortis. Without them I was missing the solidity, the weight, the presence, the boldness and mass of the sound stage.

their core is formatted into a hook thus there are no other intermediate connections. However they have some negatives which are related with their high stiffness and difficulty of placement.
sometimes I am thinking that the skin effect must be an issue with these cables but haven’t experienced this into the sound.

Hi Vienna, humility is a wonderful trait in both humans and audio cables as well. I looked up Vovox but got mostly info on pro audio type cables. Does the company have a website or where can I learn more of their audiophile type cables?
