The difference is that bamboo is much harder and requires less resin than MDF and therefore has less energy dampening or suck-out caused by resin/glues.

Correct, it has a nice stiffness versus weight ratio. In my experience it can sound more "neutral" then other popular types of wood.

I did read one thing that I cannot seem to find a second time that claimed bamboo shelves bend over time, so they may be strong and stiff but sag under load. Not sure this is true as I could not find it a second time.

It can bend when loaded, if it does it's advisable to use a thicker board. I have not noticed it bending over time, but that's assuming using the "plywood type". There is a waterproof version for outdoors use which is similar to MDF, bamboo pulp mixed with resin, that can definitely sag.

Some members say "The Daizas are addictive."
Yeah, it is. Very addictive.
Few days ago, borrowed a small piece for my Plixir LPS which is used by Lumin U1mini.
Another nice surprises. The sound becomes more lively, more details and the bass becomes more attractive.
Think of a standard size to put Lumin and Plixir together on it:cool:

They would actually perform better sitting on separate boards!

Emile,

You mean you can make a custom rack that is completely composed of Daizas? That would be interesting.

I have been wanting to do that for over a year but never got around to it. But it would also be quite an undertaking from a logistical point of view which we do not dare to take on right now ;)

You don't need a rack. You need that Engstrom amps Howie. ;)

While you do not design such rack, what would be your advice to DIY adventurous people? What materials should be used in a structure to support the Daiza platforms?

i'm sure Emile might answer later.

but my approach to this question is to use a modestly priced solid rack like the Adona; which then takes the rack design out of the shelf treatment equation. i have double Dazia's, or Tana active systems under my whole signal path, except 2 of my turntables. if the Dazia's happen to evolve in some way i can adjust them without a major change. i could fill the legs of my Adona with sand or shot if i wanted to experiment.

inevitably; passive gear treatments will evolve. using a solid rack as a starting point seems a logical longer term solution compared to an integrated rack approach.

I would go for structural integrity with a focus on avoiding low frequency flexing/ringing in every dimension, X, Y, Z, yaw, pitch and roll. Absolutely nothing compliant. The Daiza platforms will take care of the mayority of higher frequency ringing,

Emile, I can see a marriage here between your Daiza platforms and ddk's "The Nothing rack :) (the irresistible subject meets the immoveable object)

If you have something solid to use in stead of the Bespoke felt disc footers it should be a nice surprise.
I am using CenterStage2 0.8 footers for my Bespoke Ultimate Silver.

Though imperfect, still a good solution for present setup.T
Tailor-sized Daiza is definitely the best. But still on my HiFi journey, not sure what to be kept. So a standard-sized Daiza is suitable for present setting.

Just put Lumin U1 Mini and 2 Plixir LPS on Daiza. It is just like our high-density living environment here in Hong Kong.

Anyway, it is absolutely a good and enjoyable experience to have Daizas.

PS my friends got 2 tailor-sized Daizas last week and after putting them under the network player and Pre amp for few days, he plans to get some more

Choose any rack that suits your ears and ask for 50% Covid special discount. Some manufacturers are already offering promo buying within May.

Has it been found that "hard" footers like Center Stage, Stillpoints, etc perform better between component and Daiza than "soft" absorptive footers like the EVP pads from AV Room Service?:

Yes in general. But I have not received feedback on the EVP pads and Norman is obviously very knowledgeable and experienced.
