No profit, just losses ... :(
Reducing your loses is a form of profit ;) the only profit i have had in this hobby anyway. I am of the old fashioned persuasion that i haven’t lost anything if i don’t sell !

Interesting. I thought about it, but they had no markings and the same weight. Besides when tapped they had exactly the same resonance so I assumed they were all similar.

So now all we can do is computing the probability that Mike and I used them correctly by chance! Anyway, most of the time I used them on my rigid floor, as I wanted to listen to them as designed by Vladimir Lamm, without tweaks!

as i recall there was a degree of leveling you did to get all the footers to float similarly. obviously having the middle footer was tricky to adjust just right. it's likely that based on the weight distribution of the power supply verses the amps (which were obviously more rear weighted), that each footer would be essentially tuning the load.

Bob was using them for other gear, as he had never unpacked the ML3's. i paid for Bob to have the UPS store pack the stands.

Amp stands? I thought they were heavy food trays. I was using them to serve pizza and snacks to visitors. There were even 5 holes for nuts and M&Ms:)

Did you check which pair should be used for pizzas and which should used for snacks? ;)

Those SRA VA-Class in the pictures are early models. As ALF says they are pairs and the pairs are not identical. Recent ones do not have holes for footers nor middle feet and they are self leveling over the course of 24 hours. They also have more sophisticated interior construction. Each is designed for the specific component it will support. A different component such as ML2 will likely get benefit but it will not be optimal. Fwiw, I reviewed the VA-Class for the Lamm M1.2 here and will be reviewing another VA-Class built for a turntable.

It was the point of an interested person - any Lamm's will benefit from these stands, even if not the current optimum. Most other brands with top expensive stands just have one model for all kind of equipment.

Once there is new model, we know audiophiles feel nervous about the previous one. The Lamm M1.2R stays the same model since 2005 and is an excellent amplifier. These stands are not the current model, but if they were excellent in 2009, should be excellent in 2020!

My system is filled with last but one model's - IMHO they represent the best value for money in components in the used market and we can built great systems with them.

Just got the confirmation from Tom Miller, SRA Operations manager.

The SRA stands for the power supplies (PS) are very different from those of the main units (AMP) - this means that neither Mike or me have listened to these first edition (2008) SRA Virginia class properly ...

They must go back to the analysis bench. Unfortunately the ML3's are already packed, otherwise I would take a second opinion on them.

Just try to muster the anticipation and shear excitement you had the first time you unpacked them Micro.
Take one for the team, and for science ;)

did he say how you can tell the difference? markings? something to measure?

logically how would SRA tell them apart? silly to make them look identically.

You forgot the most important parameter when setting up the stands Mike. You forgot to flip a coin!

They were not expected to enter distribution - they should have had some kind of sticker that was removed sometime. We are dealing on a way to separate them.

It seems it is not possible to separate the PS and mains stands with assurance remotely. But the good news is that SRA offered to carry this operation at the factory , labeling them but also bringing them up to 2018 specs at no charge - owner will be responsible for shipping both ways. This means someone can get an as new top set of SRA Virginia class stands for the Lamm ML3's at a ridiculous low price!

Just to point that I lowered the price of my Lamm ML3's, for sale at the WBF classifieds https://www.whatsbestforum.com/classifieds/lamm-ml3.312/- now it is 46900 euros, exactly the same price of a new DartZeel NH108 mk2. Which do you prefer? :)

Canna imagine why these are not sold. That is roughly 38% the cost of a new set of ML3s (~121672 euro). Iirc, voltage conversion is done by changing internal fuses - no factory trip required. 32W into 16/8/4 Ohms. Class A.

And iIrc this comes with proper SRA stands that can be brought up to spec FOR FREE by SRA themselves.
This alone calls for you, TIMA to grab them

Ha! ML3 Signatures. Fantastico. I have SRA VA-class under my M1.2 Refs so I know their benefits. The LP1 phono is here for review. Now add in the LL1.1 Signature linestage.

And what speakers to use with ML3s?
What do you use to drive your hORNS Universum?
