Who’s up for a $2800 fuse?

I read about those recently in Stereo Times "Most Wanted 2020" under tweaks. The author sure raved about them. Certainly not the next purchase I'm going to make but I would be curious to hear a demonstration.

If it were replaced free when it blows then it might be worth considering.

Thought I’d seen it all, but apparently not.

Heh ...

I confess to being something of an old-school Newtonian, tending to dismiss out of hand those audio products that use 'Quantum Science' in their name.

from that site:

Quantum Science Q8 fuse innovative technologies
1 / musical release / burst technology, reduce the impact of digital sound

I’m saving up for their upcoming USB cable with “musical” feeling.. not.

Quite like their sub-headings
Not press to "understand more"
But to "understand deeper"

I guess you don't "pay more", you "pay deeper" Lol.

That's too much, unbelievable.
Or the 14k XLR interconnects that use $10 per pair Neutrik connectors...seriously? :(

EDIT: even worse, the company claims "self produced own sockets for Best Sound Quality (world's first)"
That's a Neutrik connector with a custom ring, but that's it. It's not built from the ground up. If they don't even bother with making the entire connector, that means it uses the stock Neutrik brass pins, which are OK for $10 but far from high end.
Cables make a big difference in sound, and good things are, usually, expensive, but this is preposterous.

no quantum tunneling from Synergistic Research for you then?
Maybe he knows that quantum tunneling can apply to any audio product with the use of quantum stickers containing cryogenically treated infra-red powder.

From that site... a wonderful collection of techno-babble, only omitting a quantum dopicator tuned gonkulator.

Every Quantum X2 stickers contains patented formula infra-red powder (which undergoes 36 hours of cryogenic process at -196oC), patented formula negative ion powder, titanium dioxide photocatalyst materials, silica wafer insulation coating material, pentoxide antistatic agent material, calcium oxide CAO desiccant material, zironia filter material and alumina structural ceramic material.

Beyond Just Technology: SuperUltraHyperTechnology

PYST cables are made from only the finest 6-nines Unobtanium™ alloy, molecularly assembled in our Alternate Universe™ reality-distortion tesseract field , using a secret geometry reverse-engineered from crashed UFOs, painstakingly smuggled out of Area 51 by deep-cover operatives. Performance is further enhanced by the use of a QuantConnect™ quantum-entangled pair of transmission interfaces, held at absolute zero by our exclusive Stasis Field™ technology. The cables are then wrapped in NanoAeroCap™, a nanotechnology-enabled aerogel anti-capacitance insulation system, featuring Fractal Interleaved Geometry™ to create negative inductance for maximum audio transmission quality.

Or, er, well . . . again, no. These are nice, high-quality cables, with solid, reliable connectors. That’s it. Hope you like them!

The fuse thing has to be a spoof. Hard to believe anyone has actually purchased one of these, even in HK where there is an abundance of crazy audiophiles! If so, was it the free bottle of Prozac that comes with every purchase that was the attraction?

I have been circling the idea of bypassing the fuse with a hard wire. Instead, I would build a Multi 9 circuit breaker into the power supply. They are thermal/magnetic so they trip on shorts and overloads. You can get them at .5 amps and up.

quantum, science and audio... now there’s three words that should never be put together o_O
Are you saying that audiophiles are not able to understand quantum mechanics? They already know logarithms from the law of diminishing returns and exponential from hyperbolic comments, quantum mechanics should come next - a bounded system sounds either natural or artificial, there is no intermediate state! :)

15 inch woofers and compression drivers vibrate at one end of the room and on the other side of the room there is an orchestra in my mind... is this not the very definition of spooky action at a distance
