Anybody watched Lupin? Is it any good? I like Omar Sy. His acting in The Intouchables was incredibly good.
Superb acting but please turn the english dub off.

another series I’m really enjoying is The Great with Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning, hilarious script.

Started Peaky Blinders last night. I believe S6 this year is its last (although seasons are only 6 episodes which is strange). Series appears to be highly rated - top 20 all time by a number of aggregator lists.

Upcoming Bosch S6 is also the end. Bummer!

What's the status of Bodyguard? Ever going to be a S2?

Keith, I loved Peaky for it's first two seasons. But S3 onwards, the swearing ramps up, and the quite frankly impenetrable plotting takes over, especially the season w the Russians.

Late to the party, but Line of Duty is excellent. There are 4 series to view.
Agree with Goliath,Ozark,Bosch and Yellowstone.
Tin Star is also pretty good viewing during these COVID times. Series 3 starts soon.

I would say line of duty is good not excellent. The last season was awful.

Goliath 1 is nice, 2 is unwatchable. Same with Ozark. Both I heard 3 is better. Yellowstone saw season 1.

I thought succession, Boardwalk Empire, and billions were all quite superior to this, plus Brooklyn 99, Lucifer, good place were good comedies. An English series called inside no. 9 was brilliant.

Thanks for the information regarding Lupin. I wouldn't watch it with the English dub anyway. I believe that art tastes best in its original form, i.e. the language of production. Subtitles don't change the message to such an extent.

I will stand behind Peaky Blinders. Yes, early seasons were more entertaining. Also, as the plot unfolds, the swearing increases, that is true, but in my opinion it is still an interesting, good quality TV show.

Just finished The Serpent (BBC) - an interesting drama based on historical events, well worth a watch. For me, the surprise hit of the last couple of months was the Queen's Gambit (Netflix) - very original.

I need to start Lupin and the second season of Succession (I think I pretty much know what to expect)

I would have to agree with your assessment. I dropped out of Succession about half way thru the first year. We went back and started it over again and started enjoying it and Season 2 was much more interesting. Looking forward to more.

GOT has everything you need from a good TV show: love, hate, drama, suspense, unexpected turns, intrigue, banter, stunning views, attractive cast, a good fight, stunning views. Especially if you are into fantasy, but the last season GOT out of control.
the last scene in GOT pissed me off big time, took the whole fantasy series and turned it into modern day politics, pretty disgusting. i did not watch but a handful of episodes.

the wife got really into ozark.

i dont have that much time to stare at a tv, i dont watch hardly any of it. last one I watched was longmire.

It has been several years since we had watched The Wire and a couple of weeks ago my wife suggested we run through it again. I jumped at the chance to rewatch my favorite series of all time. Episode after episode the drug storyline connects the dots of the good and mostly bad within drug gangs, police departments, unions, politics, schools, newspapers and so much more. Whether it is a truthful or a very cynical look at these institutions is worthy of debate. All of the characters seem to try hard to do what they think is good, usually by doing the wrong and illegal thing.

We are halfway through the final season again and I am going to miss it 'till I give it another watch in a couple of years.

The Wire is still my favourite TV show, each season offering different perspectives with familiar and wonderful characters - I'm jealous of anyone who hasn't seen that show and sits down to watch season 1.

Unfortunately, Benioff and Weiss did such a poor job in the last season that it took all the magic away from an otherwise great TV show.
Spoiler Alert!!!
1. The leitmotiv of nearly every episode was the imminent attack of the Night King. How come was he killed so easily? If the White Walkers existed since the age of the First Men why did he decide to invade right now? I was expecting it would be explained.
2. Jamie's idiotic journey and soul searching. Jamie transitions from his wild hedonistic days to a redemption phase where he reflects on all of his mistakes and takes on a different path, only in the last few episodes to go back to the beginning.
3. Tyrion loses his sense of humour.
4. Dragon that used to be quite vulnerable, now become indestructible and can apparently turn whole cities into ashes. A Scorpio's arrow shot from an unstable ship floating on water from huge distance into the moving target reaches Rhaegal and takes him down, whereas hundreds of Scorpios installed on the capital's walls cannot touch Drogon.
5. The time and space continuum disappears. Characters jump in time. Previously we needed the whole season moving from Winterfell to the King's Landing, now it is just an episode.

That is going to be me at one point. In that case I am already jealous of my future self.

We're starting soon, my first time for The Wire. I envy my GF who's never seen Breaking Bad before, I'm threatening her w that.
The Blu Ray has remastered the original 4:3 to 16:9...does this spoil the experience?

Blinders first 2 seasons really good, 3rd one not so much. at least they are short so will continue
Fully agree Keith. Seasons 1 and 2 are hard to criticise. 3 is passable, 4 onwards is a struggle for me.
