Yes, but the bass is not perfect yet, still working on placement to get the bass smoothed out. This is not a permanent situation. We have a lot going on at this location, details coming in a few months. Just playing around for now.

Looks like a great room anyway. Have fun!

Thx Howie.

Toe in, toe out, toeing on the Bayz makes a big difference with the bass. The mid's and highs are never an issue.

interesting. I thought these were pretty immune to positioning given the radial nature of the speakers.
Not really. With two ports on the back of each speaker it makes a difference in positioning (toe-in, toe-out) , depending on each room, how to optimize the bass, which of course determines how everything else sounds.

They sound good if you just plop them down anywhere, but to get them to bring out the refinement , which they are very capable of, takes some work.

We are indeed keeping this as a trade secret for now. It's the answer to over a decade of wondering about differences in sound quality for file based playback. Why for example CD's ripped with different software like EAC or dBPoweramp, or when ripped with different drives, or on different systems "sound" different. Or why files stored on a NAS sound inferior to those on local drives, and for local drives on which make or type of drive. Or even when streamed using different switches, or routers, or different ISPs (at least the part we hadn't figured out yet).

Emile, are you able to highlight, at this high level and context, the one or perhaps two areas where Roon's architecture most corrupts playback quality?

Absolutely love these Bayz speakers. Heard them at Axpona and had to go back to the room 3 times because I couldn’t get enough.

These are the only speakers that would make me move to the burbs so I have enough space for a dedicated listening room. Unfortunately, wifey doesn’t have the same priorities.

In TAS, is there any way to change the Album Artist picture in the Album Artist view?

Go to "settings" :

Then disable "Draw background":

If you want to use a different picture you have to edit the file metadata.

The picture that comes up in the "album artists" view isn't from my own metadata. I think the system is pulling it from some other source.

This isn't a big deal, but I was curious if anyone has tried to change it.

As I let the Extreme burn in I am playing with TAS functionality. I have posted comments about tags, etc in the Test Flight log.

Ok, don't spend too much time on LMS functionality as that part of TAS is going to be replaced anyway.
