Gobel Divin Noblesse—Wadax Ref Dac and Server—CH M10–Bending Wave

Best sound at the show to my ears so far. speakers working well in the room, source nails it, great amp. Bass impactful, clear mids, sweet extended highs. Immersive, involving.

2 more days to find better.

Overall Goebel system driven by CH precison amp wth Wadax source is the most authoritative and balanced sound.

But to me Genesis gave more excitement.

I will get back to Goebel again on Sunday.

certainly you can hear potential in the Genesis room, lots of energy and excitement. the tape and Lp sources, special tape media and speakers are all world class.

i will be there today to hear them play back the tape Ki Choi made, of the Big Band concert i heard last night.

The sound is coming from smaller speaker which cost 400$ which include internal Dac and amplifier.

All you have to do is to connect USB from your laptop.

It also has bluetooth connection

The larger one cost 600$.

This kind of speaker wil be good for young people. :)

Did the live show sound a bit muffled to you. The players were all very far back in a tunnel. It was pleasant. But seemed a bit constrained.

I dropped in Voxative room expecting to listen to their field coil full range speaker.

Instead they display Hagen full range unit (96db/W) supplemented by Alberich subwoofer.

They also have black box which contains Dac streamer and amplifer which need to be connected to laptop or tidal.

Cost of Hagen and Alberich is 18k$.

But even with blakc box, the total cost is 22k$.

To me the sound quality is up to audiophile standard.

Hagen which is run full range without any netwoerk give nice details while Alberich subwoofer. give nice woomph.

It is worth as serious total package.

i sat on a tall chair, near where Ki Choi sat doing the monitoring, almost dead center. agree the band was in a tunnel and so the soundstage was minimized by reflections in degrees. with a normal appropriately wide and tall venue the soundstage for a big band can be amazing. this one was still decent from my seat. i could get reasonable directionality from the soloists. but the mass horns did congeal a bit. but i was sitting up and i do sit tall. many of the seats were tucked in the lower left side below the band in sort of a hole.

the immediacy and energy of the band was still 'live' sounding. no doubt it was live instruments. but the sound could not fully breathe.

this might be a case where the mics (within the tunnel) had the best seat and that the tape playback will sidestep many of the venue limitations, at least in terms of the soundstage width.

KLAudio prototype turntable.

Belt driven magnet platter in base, drives the upper 40kg platter through an opposed magnet isolated upper plinth. This is combined with the KLAudio linear tracking arm with auto cuing. Boggles the mind to even think about designing stuff like this. Read Dre’s very through review on the arm in the Absolute Sound if you think about dismissing this as too complicated. This is serious kit. Price is said to be around $60k USD for the tt only at this point. But it’s only a prototype.
