How are adapters used?

I've not used any CMS product so I'm not familiar with the application of this new TT footer as a potential replacement for the Ultra 5s currently attached via 1/4-20 adapters to my turntable plinth.

I will need to assure the plinth's height position could be maintained to assure current integrity of the motor pod/belt to platter relationship.

Thank you for your questions.

The adapter screws into the TT foot and then into the bottom of your table. They are designed to attach the foot to your table and provide a snug fit to promote energy transfer. We can supply a ¼-20 adapter to suit your table.

The foot is height adjustable and provides ¼” of travel between approx., 1.5” to 1.75”. Our CS Ultra is probably shorter than your current foot, however, we can supply an insert to be placed under the TT foot to raise it 3/16”.

In addition to @allvinyl questions, I would need an M6 attachment. Or, can they be used without attaching them to the turntable?

How do they adjust?

I don’t see anything on the web site yet.

Thanks

Bruce.
We can supply an M6 adapter for your turntable. Or, yes, they can be used without an adapter.

The CS Ultra TT foot adjusts by turning its base. The adjustments are quite fine so leveling accuracy is not an issue.

We are modernizing our website to feature an entire new line of Ultra products including our racks and feet. This should be done in the 1st quarter of this year. Nonetheless, the Ultra feet along with our all-new Ultra-Q rack, Sapphire 2, Ultra-Platinum and Ultra-Diamond filters, are in production and shipping around the world.

Should I assume a user would employ an adapter of a desired length in order to achieve a desired position, height for instance, for the component?

Do you have pictures of the new TT footer?

What is the size of the footer's tap? (assuming it has one) For instance as you know, all Stillpoints products are tapped at 1/4-20. Then one can buy any size Stillpoints adapter, standard or metric. (1/4-20 to 3/8-16) (1/4-20 to M6)... etc.
The answer to your 1st question is, no. The feet are based on the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics and MUST touch the bottom of the table. In short, the 2nd Law states that energy radiates from a point of concentration to dissipation. For this to occur effectively the feet and the table need to be in intimate contact.

I think Steve's photos are good.

Actually, the tap of the foot is irrelevant to its attachment. We can supply any thread/pitch adapter for your table. Please note, we use a particular metal alloy for our adapters. We think one alloy best supports the performance standard we want to set with this product.

Steve, I need 1 1/4” height in order to clear the center bearing shaft. Is that an issue with these? Just want to confirm a height adjustment of 1.5-1.75 inches.
The height of the foot, as expressed, will accommodate your needs.

and most importantly here is what sets these footers apart from the 2M series........

"A set of 4 Center StageUltra TT footers has over 30 contact points of differing diameter directly touching the bottom of the turntable. This is vastly more complex than the 4 contact points found on a set of 4 Center Stage2M footers."
What do you mean by over 30 contact points directly touching the bottom of the turntable while the top surface of the TT footers are flat?

The touchpoints are slightly raised creating, or maintaining, a uniform flat surface across the area of the foot. The foot is flat across the touchpoints. ........and the touchpoints are flat across their surface as well. The touchpoints are not "spikes" or the like.

Rather than me saying what changes I heard and, in the process, use every descriptor you've heard used a million times over once again, I'd rather say that I heard a doubling or maybe tripling of performance. I'd say, in this case, a doubling for sure. And, this was a very good table.
Dear Dr. Joe,
I'm a fan of Center Stage footers
I'm currently using 10 sets of 4 x CS2M 1.5 for all of my components and it make a huge performance leap for my system. Really love it!
Glad to know that you now release new product for analog sources, and from the experience which you shared about new product
+ "We named these two footers "Ultra" for a reason. In both, the damping "sweet spot" achieved using 30+ touch points is so finely tuned, so accurate, so perfect for the weight, dimension and materials used to fabricate the foot that placing 1 set of either under your front end component is, well, amazing."
+ "The benefits of the Center Stage Ultra footer can transfer to electronic components too"

So for the ultimate sound, I'm very curious to know about the performance of Center Stage Ultra products in order to compare with CenterStage 2M 1.5" when place it under electronic components especially with the lightweight units (maybe a bit overdamped with CS2M 1.5") like MSB Select 2 DAC unit (11kg) & power unit (20kg), L10 preamp unit(20kg) & power (23kg) and Entreq Olympus Infinity T (9kg)
Do you have any advice for me with Center Stage Ultra?
Thank you very much!

Thank you for being a loyal customer. I love your feedback, of course. I need to add, the weight of the MSBs are well within the functional range for the CS2M 1.5s. Weight doesn't matter as much as size does. 4 feet may not fit under a very small size component. A size issue could be meaningful.

For the ultimate sound, I would suggest trying a set of the TTs under, perhaps, your Server and/or DAC. I did this and my jaw dropped........and my jaw very rarely drops.

FWIW, we'll be using the new Ultra TT and TD feet at FLAX 2023 in the Florida room. Please stop by for a listen.

Joe

Would you please comment on your personal experience with the Ultra TT and TD feet in terms of days for the sound to settle (to sound optimal) to your ears.

Will you have enough time to settle at the show?

Thank you very much for your recommendation.
I'll ask my local dealer for Ultra TT, there is a point that Ultra have 30+ touch points so I think the settle process will be faster.

Sure thing. These settle much faster. How many days? Well, when I tested them on an MDF board (shelf) I'd say 3 days. When I tested them on on our all-new Ultra-Q rack with Ultra-Diamond filters, I'd say half that. But, this is me and it is reasonable and customary to assume that different rack/shelf structures will net different settling times.

We will have our new Ultra-Qs in 2 rooms at Flax (Florida with Taiko and 518 with Lampizator). Both rooms will feature the Ultra TT and Ultra TD feet as well. If anyone reading this is there, I'd love to hear what you think.

Unless I missed it, I don't see the Ultra feet or rack info on your website.
When will the website include the new Ultra products? (did I miss it?)

No, you didn't miss anything. Our current webmaster sucks, in my opinion. We're in the midst of building a new site with a new designer and all will be there.

Attached is some basic Ultra-Q info. In addition to the new Ultra-Q architecture, the new Ultra--Diamond and Ultra-Platinum filters are now dual-zone 12-stage damping systems with the damping calculated down to 10/thousandths of an inch, like the feet. The Sapphire is a dual zone 5-stage damping filter.

These improvements (Ultra-Q architecture and upgraded damping systems) put the Ultra-Q at/near the same performance level as our most expensive systems at 1/2 the price. To be honest, we knew we had to increase prices because of inflation, but we decided to go for swing-for-the-fences improvements in performance. The new Ultra series helps components develop extraordinarily realistic reproduction. We busted our butts to make these invisible in the sonic envelope...no thumbprint...just music. Check out these reviews from their maiden voyage at CapFest 2022. The Ultra-Q with the Ultra filters were in the VAC room and the Voice That Is room.

What would the difference be between upgrading from Acoustic Signature Maximus NEO to the AS Tornado NEO or adding the TTs to the Maximus?

Going with the footers or higher up the table line is comparable price wise.

Well, it would not be appropriate for me to suggest that the upgrade is not cost effective. I'm sure you can understand why. Having said this, I can tell you without equivocation that music lovers who tried the feet their under mass loaded tables tell me the improvement is far beyond their expectations and almost to a person say their tables improve to a level they never though possible. Their statements are always strongly positive.
