One thing to keep in mind when installing the arm, make sure you use a 28mm drill bit for the hole and use a 3.5mm drill bit for the fixing holes, I didnt have a 28mm dill bit only a 30mm one which isn't ideal as the fixing holes are quite close to the centre hole. I am going to get a 28mm drill bit and re manufacture the arm board

with Leif everything is superbly engineered or he will do it himself

That is completely true. I visited Leif last friday and even his template for mounting his arms in the correct position in one of his B-60s is milled out of some fancy high grade steel heavier than my record weight. It could alternatively be used as a weapon in case of someone trying to steal his Melco…

And it’s playing. The rather soft Denon DL-301II does not complain. Good bearings I suppose.

Have followed this thread with interest for some time and appreciate all that have contributed….

I’ve had several conversations with Alfred before and after order placement, not ready to chime in yet, but will certainly outline my experience when complete.

Question to Bokrand and SPU users: Do you manage to hit the nulls on the template?

I've tried with 51 mm connector-stylus and the nominal 230 mm P2S on my arm and it's way off. I've moved the arm closer and am able to get nulls at 63.5 and 134.5 mm. Not really a problem (no plans for an SPU, they're too romantic), but not to spec.

On a side note I have the best results so far with my old AT-OC10. It's also quite fun to play 78s with an AT-VM95SP. The DL-301II is up for sale, It's not happy with this much inertia.

Has anyone had any communication with Alfred the last week or so. He has not logged on here since Feb. 4th. The last email i got from him was on Feb. 7th stating he was sick and will get back to me next day. Nothing since, either on eBay or email.

He sent me tracking number on Jan 23th and no progress on that tracking number.

At this point I have lost hope of ever receiving the tonearm, which is overdue already by 6+ weeks ??.

If he is sick, give him som time. Last post he made on IG was five days ago and two days ago he posted a story on IG. I know its frustrating but if he has booked shipping than it probably means tonearm is ready.

Heard from Alfred on eBay saying that he has my arm ready to ship. Hopefully it will ship in the next day or two.

I fully understand that he is struggling with health issues but wish he would communicate more on consistent basis or designate someone to communicate with his customers. That along with him shipping tonearm out of order is whats frustrating which is strange way to do business IMHO.

I’ve had several correspondence with him in the past couple of months, he‘s told me of several trips to the emergency room and he also told me he was back in the hospital yesterday….

What’s confusing is taking new orders, the updates to eBay, and his promises to fulfill orders in short order…These things prompted me to ask him why he’s not postponing his sales or at least using the “I’m away“ option?

Have not received a reply to the above…

I’m very sympathetic to someone with ongoing physical issues, have some serious ones myself, and they keep me from accomplishing many tasks….I’m careful about my comments because of my own situation.

However Alfred is still selling and making delivery promises with specific dates that have not been fulfilled, so I’m hoping he’s getting better and is going to turn his business dealings around, as I’ve admired him and his work.

I am also waiting for my arm, I have not received a reply for over a week too. Last time he wrote to me he was in and out of ER.

Let's hope for the best for his health and then for our tonearms!

Hi everybody,
I'm watching this thread for a while now!
I ordered 2 arms from Alfred last october and paid in advance.
After a short conversation, I decided to order from him directly.
Did not receive anything until now.
Talked to him yesterday, but it was a short conversation where he told me that he is on the way to the hospital....

It seems Alfreds health is causing some delays with production and communication can be erratic at times but I have just received my arm this week after I placed my order at the beginning of June.
Hard to be patient with such a long wait but also have to respect a fellow human beings struggle with health issues.
