However, Carlos, on this recording I don't think your WAAR system does the recording any favors. It sounds thin and overly sharp on the piano and her voice.
Ok, I am not here to judge your taste... but definitely not to me. The voice has been eviscerated of body and piano completely lacks weight. I might add that Jay's recording ADDs excessive weight to the piano that is also not on the recording.

Why? So you can do tit for tat? I have plenty of videos up on my system...go check them out. BTW, note that I am not claiming that my system does it better...just that compared to what I hear from the original track, yours strays pretty far off and to me not in a good way.

Yes most of these audiophile demonstrations tracks are shitty and not worth listening to for any other reason than sound comparisons. If videos of music for musical enjoyment is the goal then all commonality will diverge and then the videos would serve less value as audiophile comparison tool and just be uploaded for the purpose of musical enjoyment or for private comparisons instead of public commentary. I see your point. Here are a couple of videos of music I actually enjoy:
You are missing the point. The original track is the mastering engineer’s interpretation. The Remastering system allows me to hear his version with the sound that I prefer. It is a simple as that.
AND, as I said, that is fine but then don't expect that to appeal or be appreciated as amazing to everyone... I suspect most would prefer the sound from the original file because it is significantly richer sounding.

No, you are missing the point...not everyone will agree with your reinterpretation...IMO it is clearly inferior...sorry that is how I hear it. Again if it works for you...great.

These are the same recording??? They are SO different. The vimeo sounds louder but also more vibrant...the Youtube like a blanket was thrown over the ribbon towers.
Nice, you have a very nice sounding system. I prefer the sound on your video to the sound on Jay’s video. Your system has an airy and clear presentation. Finding the right recording level can be a challenging. I notice that everyone else’s videos always sound louder than mine.
Glad that you posted. Perhaps this will encourage others to post a video of their systems playing this song for comparison. And perhaps Jay will give these videos a listen and understand how his system’s sound presentation compares to others. It is clear that it is definitely not about the amount money that one puts into these systems, although none are inexpensive, you definitely do not need to spend ridiculous amounts for great sound.
This is closer, the voice has dimension and presence with some of the fullness but the piano is still too thin and sharp...the lower notes are almost absent.

Interesting. Here are my thoughts. Jays has too much heft AND is a bit sharp. Additionally, the voice lacks presence of the recording itself. This is the only one though that kind of gets the piano weight correct, although it is too hefty...as is the bass.
Hopkins gets the presence of the voice the closest to right but the rest is somehow too light. The voice is pretty good though also with 3d and tone.
The wavetouch sounds quite nasal on the voice...something is wrong tonally here. I found that quite distracting.
The WAAR sounds too thin and sharp and lacks presence.
Yes. I will be exploring ways to improve that without sacrificing other aspects that I appreciate. It's a process! It may lead to a dead end, I'll see. I keep my eyes and ears open to alternative ways.

Interesting comments and these serve to highlight how we all hear differently and have different personal preferences. In due diligence, I went back to listened to all the videos and guess what, my tow favorite ones are my DHT/SET and my WAAR system with Remastering. From a musical enjoyment perspective for me the WAAR system with the pronounced bass notes and treble detail and resolution just appeals to me across the board. I’m happy and that is my goal. The beauty and power of the Remastering system if that I can change the sound to have the sound of the other systems, but then it would not be as much to my liking.

I am curious though as an experiment if it is possible for you to make it sound just like the recording. Can you actually get there with your process? I am assuming of course you clearly hear where your system deviates from the recording itself...
