Dual 1019 noise
I have recently been working on the same issue on a Dual 510 turntable. Apparently, replacing the capacitor on the startup switch resolves this problem. Also, could be a shorting issue with the tonearm cable.- 3rdRock

Transparency and the sound of a system
I agree JayR! Transparency should be compared to the original live event, rather than the Master Tape which is flawed from the point where the live sound enters the microphone, not to mention the cables, mixing board, eq and processing that occur before it even gets to the tape machine.- 3rdRock

Sorry to disappoint you, but WAV presented the best soundstage and imaging. The FLAC files also added a slight sibilance to vocals with 'S' words.
