BACCH-SP: The future of high-end audio? Yes.

Has anyone heard or compared the U Bacch VST plug in (I use it inside Jriver) to the other Bacch hardware or Mac based solutions ? With the test tones I’m not getting imaging outside one of my speakers, despite them being far from any boundaries. Mine are coincident drivers - TAD CR1, which are...

    Panasonic DP-UB9000 4K Blu-ray player | High-end Audio/Video machine

@rwwear thanks. I was going to buy the 820, then learned the 9000 has some HDR settings specifically for projectors. Not sure if this is correct but one person indicated you can set a target NIT level for tone mapping.

    Panasonic DP-UB9000 4K Blu-ray player | High-end Audio/Video machine

Do people still recommend the 9000? Thinking of getting one specifically for its projector settings. I'm currently using a PS5 and Sheild Pro to feed a Sony XW6000 on a large high gain screen.

Anyone with a 1/2 track machine willing to transfer my master tapes to DSD or PCM?

In the early 90's I was recording musicians in New York's East Village, on the ant-folk scene. I used the classic Nagra 1/2 track portable open reel commonly used for film production, and rented mics from Schoeps. I recorded in Blumlein stereo, monitoring live on Quad ESL63's with the Cosby...

Advice needed - add Furman reference 15 from 2nd system to my Niagara 7000?

I put together a small second system while I was away for a year, and not wanting to spend much money, found a used Furman 15 reference. It seems to be exactly the same internally as the current reference 15i except for cosmetics. I am now selling that system and have to decide this week what...

Thread size for Footers for CR1’s?

Thank you so much. What footers have you tried? Have you used ones raised in the back angle tweeter towards ear height?

Thread size for Footers for CR1’s?

I’m interested in adding aftermarket footers to my CR1 stands. Can anyone tell me the thread size? Thinking of the Isoacoustic gaia, but open to suggestions. Also since the make the speaker higher, should I use a longer thread on rear footer so it’s higher, pointing the mid/tweeter back at...

    New TAD M700 & M700S

I have found iconoclast cables to be amazing with my CR1’s. the nice thing is that their cheaper series 1 cables are perfect for the woofers, with the top series 2 for mids/highs.

Anyone Rewired CR1’s internally with new cable? Thinking about Belden!!!

Has anyone rewired their CR1’s? If it’s possible, I’d love to use Belden cable!!! No, I haven’t lost my mind. I am now using Iconoclast cables, to amazing effect on my CR1’s. For those unfamiliar, Belden Engineer Galen Gareis convinced the massive wire company to let him use their...

Just heard TAD reference on tour - Patricia Barber’s producer R1 reveals new details in his recordings

@BR549 did you run the CR-1’s with subs when you had them? Would love to hear the R1’s in a home setting. You’re not in the NY or south Florida area by any chance?

    Amplification options with TAD speakers

Has anyone else ever heard the Bascom King (of Constellation fame) designed BKH300 or BHK600 mono tube hybrid amps on TAD? I’ve been using the BHK300’s with Siemans CCA tubes on my CR1’s for years with fantastic results. Now that the BHK 600’s are available, I’m wondering if anyone has heard...

    Alsyvox planars...prepare to sell your Magico's, YG's, Wilson's, Cessaro's. Maggie's, and all others!!

Nice write up. Seems to align with what I heard listening to the Tintoretto. Interesting that he mentioned Rickie Lee Jones. One of the tracks I requested during my short demo was from Pop Pop. I know that album quite well and was able to hear right away how well the speakers reproduced...
