    I'm afraid you are right and i will not succeed without the precise instructions to assemble this motor myself. I am even convinced that this was not originally a housing and shaft for 2 ball bearings, but rather something improvised but not good enough.

    Tapetech You're obviously an expert on Studers, and you know for sure what a double ball bearing capstan motor for A80 looks like. Can you send me an explode view or at least a photo of what it looks like please?

    I agree that the bronze sleeve version is difficult to repair on its own, but this one where you just need to change the ball bearing is not.The problem is that someone has done this before but missed the distance and washers and misassembled it. I thought someone might have a picture of that...

    Does enyone have explode view parts of Studer a80 capstan motor with two rollball bearing. Some parts (distances) missing in my motor an it does not work properly and I dont now what missing. Thanks

    Studer A80 problem

    I use New Tape RGB 468 and tape path is cleaned. I dont see any tape tension excess before stoping or any oder excess , evrithing is smooth and tape stop just like 'STOP' key bee pressed.

    After Warm Up for cca 20 - 30 min In PLAY or RECORD mode My A80 suddenly stop like I tapped 'STOP' kay. Next excess is then after 5 min or shorter. Any idea? Thanks in advance

    Problem solved. 2-th Set of new eproms hawe errors too and even 3-th Set of new eproms solved problems. Thank one moor time to Ki for help and suport

    Ki thank You very very much but unfortunately aluminium dosent solved Our problem. I bay 3 new programed firmware eprom for 810. After turn on recorder ,error on display now is '07070' and leds for play,backward and forward light simultaniosly.
