I had the older WW silver starlight , not the very top level solid silver one but next one down but I replaced it with a mix of Nordost Heimdall 2, BlueHeaven, Audiquest thunderbird 48 and carbon 48 across my hdmi connections. Sound is greatly affected as is picture. I also replaced all my uk...
HDMI can't be perfect, nothing is. All that you can say is HDMI cables, TV's meet an arbitrary standard defined by some group of engineers to be acceptable when delivered over a set of mis-used protocols ;-) Any test equipment is probably configured to measure the minimum 'eye' measurement...
If you take apart your nvidea 3090 and other top spec gpu's to water cool you see they have the liquid stuff on the gpu itself and putty like thermal pads on the other solid state components, you can buy it from pc water cooling supplies eg https://www.ekwb.com/shop/thermal-pad-f-2-0mm-120x16mm...
Great video. Last apple tv I took apart was the original gen 1 with a hard disk, certainly changed since then.
I hope you cleaned the old heatsink paste off and replaced with new high performance paste/pads (I'm building a top end water cooled pc, water cooled gpu etc)
Fascinating, Does heat play a significant part in the equation. I just have my 2017 apple tv 4k sitting on a blob of blutak next to my UB9000 to give the fan extra clearance
Hi
Hi
Just an obvious question when reading this, rather than trying to cram everything into a small footprint plastic case, why don't you take the circuit boards out and put them in a new copper shielded case with high quality connectors etc. Then you would have more room? The power supply...
There is an updated follow on second video .The 1/c was a simplification assuming a distance of 1m ie t=distance/velocity = 1m/(c= m/t units)
The topic of the video is the Poynting vector
I don't disagree regarding the cost, I accept that all components sound different, personally I tried 3 well known types and I'm happy with SR orange - I use these on my tv where the difference is obvious to see. My tv originally came with a HiFi tuning fuse fitted.
The point I was making wrt...
It would be good if you could draw a picture of the component software inputs and outputs and how they relate to each other e.g Blender, Unreal
Which way data, files etc are moving. What file or data formats are involved, what are the desired outcomes etc
Normally you could do this in UML...
Ah right, I hadn't heard of them and just did a quick google and saw this https://www.tweekgeek.com/quantum-science-audio/
I have SR orange, hard to imagine something significantly better, my mistake
Why did you swap a $155 fuse for a $28 one? What made you think it would be better especially if you have several SR Orange. It's not as though you can sell the SR Orange , who wants a second hand fuse?
I just swapped out a second hand Audioquest NRG1.5 for a new Nordost Purple Flare on a £1300 soundbar (Both SR Orange fused). Noticeable difference straight away.
The AQ was a bit of a bass heavy monster with real solid thump but the Nordost is more balanced sound, mid and treble to the front...
I have Nordost Heimdall 2, Nordost Blue Heaven, Wireworld Silver Starlight, Belkin recommended by Apple, cheap Ugreen 8k from Amazon
I would rate them in that order, I would say Blue Heaven is noticeably better than the wireworld but BH is nearly twice the price, plus flat cables are...
Following up from my previous posts I found the following interesting info...
definition: What’s The Difference Between Linear And Non-Linear Loads?
AC electrical loads are referred to either as linear or non-linear depending on how they draw current from the mains power supply waveform...
