I always say I don't care what it looks like, I care what it sounds like, but readily admit if the Wadax was the best sounding rig and was coming to my s system it would take quite a while before I became comfortable with the aesthetics.- BillK

Anyone try a DS Audio cartridge on a 12" VPI Fatboy yet?
It sounds quite good, but it is also distinctly… different than a regular cartridge. I don't know how to describe it except it sounds more "digital" in some way - and by that I mean leading transients are a bit harsher but the background is also a bit quieter. I can honestly see people...- BillK

I've found digital more than any other format seems to be listener-dependent. For example, for several years the ESS ES9038PRO chip has been the holy grail of the audiophile community but I've never heard any product made with it sound good.- BillK

Yes, I think it was $800 just a few years ago. I congratulate you; I never found a dealer willing to part with theirs or charge me what I thought was a reasonable amount to order one from Wilson. Since I didn't need it immediately, waiting about three weeks for my Lo-Pro to ship was no big deal. -

DCS Rossini APEX has arrived!
Just to chime in, my Rossini Player Apex sounds better on the 6V setting going through my Ayre KX-R Twenty than it does at 2V; it seems to have more heft and low end and the Ayre has zero issues with the higher output level. Also, the Apex is by far the best upgrade money I've spent, perhaps ever.- BillK

Yes, but Fremer states at 2:18 in the video it's because he asked them what would happen if their tonearm bearing lost air pressure due to a power failure or pump failure. I just stated I was surprised they hadn't considered that as they already included a warning to stop the platter ASAP...
