Well, sort of. A long time ago there was a reviewer at TAS named Enid Lumley. One of her things was that for the best sound the listener needed to be naked.
From following along with your previous posts I’m not sure why you’re invoking the pharmaceutical industry in support of your views. They are after all, the epitome of double blind testing. The use of the drug being tested vs. placebos is at the heart of their research.
I use convolution filters created for me by Mitch Barnett. They are of course software based so there are no additional chipsets involved. They are in the system before the DAC, not after.
I’m aware of that. I’ve bought quite a bit of music directly from Qobuz. I doubt that I have more than 10 or 15 Qobuz albums in my library at any one time. If I like it I buy it and then delete the online version from my library.
I’ve followed this thread from the beginning and I’m not sure exactly what everyone is considering “streaming”. I’m pretty sure everyone considers listening to Qobuz streaming but what about locally sourced files? I have over 1,000 CDs that have been in a disk tray exactly once. When I play...
I hadn’t been to an audio show in quite some time so I went to the recent Audio Advice show in Raleigh. Without exception, no matter what equipment was being demonstrated, the two characteristics being promoted were how much bass was produced and how loud could it play. Not my cup of tea.

Do we really have to do this again? Can’t you just drop it? You’ve been an MQA evangelist since the beginning, we get that. No one is going to change your mind and you aren’t going to change theirs. You’’re excited because someone showed up to beat the dead horse. How about if we all just move on?
Like a number of previous posters here I prefer to read reviews while I listen to my system. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a single review of an audio product. One thing I’ve been doing with written reviews for some time is having a reviewer saying he played such and such a song and...
